By-Tor
Nice collection, but the best Rolex is completely missing: The GMT 16710.

freddy333
Very nice (picture & collection), but I agree with By-Tor & Stephane -- you need to get some vintage metal in there.
robertb
Nice collection, but the best Rolex is completely missing: The GMT 16710. I agree, I have a BK GMT II Transformer and BK Sub on order and should be here in 3-4 weeks. I thought the Rollie experts would spot the "special" watches in the group. There are 3 gens in there and if nobody can pick them out.... we know that these reps must be pretty decent!
freddy333
There are 3 gens in there and if nobody can pick them out.... we know that these reps must be pretty decent! Not so fast. Without good, clear close-up pictures, it is nearly impossible to see the details on most watches. Based on what I CAN see, the only thing I know for sure is that neither of the Daytonas are gens. w.genzo
DayDate gen Daytona/SD/YM rep Two among Sub ExII Datejust are gen. Too hard from this distance
robertb
Interesting responses so far. It just goes to show that in a real life situation, an expert may get a glance at one of these watches from a similar distance but it would be tough to tell rep vs gen. I know that personally I never want to stare so I'll sneak a peak. There is a lot of emphasis on dial font, rehaut, spacing, pearl, bezel, crown size or crown guard shape etc but if rep experts can't tell from this distance, neither can your average Joe. I'll hold off on the final reveal in case others want to play.
robertb
Ok since nobody else is playing the spot the gen game here are the answers: Blue 2 tone sub is a gen Yachtmaster is a gen 2 tone Datejust with white roman dial is a gen The Daytona's are easy to spot from this distance because the 3 and 9 subdials don't line up with the 3 and 9 ticks, they sit slightly above the midway point. The Daydate is a tough one, if I held that in my hands I would have a hard time knowing it was a rep. The Exp II is easy because it's the incorrect handstack version. The Sea Dweller would be tough because it's the new V2 but holding it in your hand, the band doesn't feel as nice as a gen. Thanks for playing folks!
