Anyone paying attention to what is going on between Russia and Georgia?

By the way, another interesting fact is that Russia allways claimed the intention to protect the russina population in South Osetia. They never claimed to protect the safety, freedom or independence of South Osetia itself.

Why?

The reason is that if they give South Osetia as a self-administrated region a profile by doing so North Osetia might claim independence from the Russian Federation and declare the intention to become an independent nation toghert with South Osetia (which might find lots of acceptance there).

It seems that the numbers of victims on both sides as well as the real combat activities of both sides will remain in the dark as this seems to be pretty much of a media war with no intention on both sides to be really open with informations that can be verified by an independent media.

What some of you guys, I think, are not getting, that this is not about Russian protecting its alleged citizens or Georgia murdering ossetians. This is about barbarianism! We are not living in a barbarity. We have the United Nations and the United Nations has its ways to enforce International Law and bring justice to those who violate it.

We do not need crazy people running to their neigbors and kicking their children in the nuts, because one of them hit their little baby girl! We have the Rule of Law, noone is above it. And noone should invade another country or step foot on it without a general assembly taking place. The UN is basically the judge and the court for such intergovernmental problems! AND NOT PUTIN!

Law, yeah right.

In my country people can rape and kill 2 small girls at the age of 10 and be out on perm within 6-7yrs.

If anyone hurts any person in my family ill deal whit them myself.

The gov are the true mafia atleast in my country.

Gooo Putin i think he is the best thing that has happen to Russia in a long time..

Georgian (female&good lookin!) Reporter shot by russian sniper during live coverage:

Is this the way to solve the conflict?!

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/worldnews/...eeding-arm.html

The Daily Mail.

What a rag. The worst sort of trash journalism. The journalist herself said, "There is no one to be seen here and I have no idea who shot me," but now somehow it is a "Russian sniper." I am no fan of the Russians, but the fact is NO ONE but the guy who shot her knows what the shooter's nationality is (and if it was a stray bullet, even he doesn't know) or if he was a sniper, infantry soldier, or civilian militia.

What a farce. This is exactly the problem with the media - they can say anything and everybody starts running around crying, "a Russian sniper shot a Georgian journalist." Google it, and people are repeating this idle-speculation-turned-fact all over the web.

Light infantry rifle? Only a minor wound, rather a a scratch? A sniper only hitting her arm? Of course, that must have been a russian sniper!

???

There are allready other info like fotos of war victims that have been discovered as fakes or at least published with false information. I can try to find them again and post some links then if someone is really interested.

By the way, there are voices talking about direct relationships between the georgian president and the neo-cons, they say (with some good info supporting this idea) that there is a very direct relationship between them and Saakashvili, that he

Sabre rattling. They don't have the stones to nuke Poland. That's my hope anyway, if they do, we will all be dead or dying within a couple of days.

Oh they have the stones to do it, alright. Wether they have working equipment to do it is another matter ;)

To be honest, my only issue with this situation, is America's interest. I don't have an issue with what the Russian millitary are doing. All this crap on the news about how there are still Russian troops in place despite a cease fire only signed a few days ago, with the Russians claiming they are simply 'maintaining order' until the native local militia can pick up the slack...

And what? Is that not precicely what is going on with Coalition Forces in Baghdad? Maybe they ought to think about pulling out of the region... Afterall, people in glass houses, and what not ;)

Oh they have the equipment. Out of thousands of missiles, I am sure that a few still work.

So if they have the stones, and they have equipment - time to GO CRAZY AND LIVE IT UP. You have maybe 48 hours left - so cash out your portfolio, call the escort service, order up a dozen to go, and let the fun begin. Last chance baby!

Sounds like a plan  To be honest, this kind of stuff doesn't phase or surprise me, as having read the John Titor 'predictions', even if they were fake, I consider them as a 'rough guide to the future' (especially as a few things, such as wireless internet, and the Z Machine, have come to pass since the original mention of them... :o:huh: )

What is a "Z Machine"? - I have been out of the U.S. for a long time. I know what wireless internet is.

The Z Machine is a rather nifty gizmo. The thing that was of interest, was the way in which it (or rather Z field compression) was casually mentioned by Titor. Indeed, everyone knows what wireless internet is now, but, when the discussions first took place, the actual term used was 'node' (which suggests a kind of 'broadcast wifi', which is only now becoming a technical possibility. It's things like that that make me conclude Titor was either a very bored 'insider', who knew the industry, and made a few educated guesses about the state of the world, or, were the legitimate comments of a time traveller... Interesting stuff, even if just as entertainment :good:
