Ok, here is a pic from last time to refresh your memories :)

Added some titanium white to the bottom of the cleaned markers.

Markers lumed and going back on.

All done!

So now this is where it gets strange....

I took the movement out of my "UPO" and removed the dial...

My original one is the one on the left. The one that I just lumed is the one on the right.

notice the size difference?

the pins on the back don't match either.

DSC_1712.jpg

My dial measures 42mm across, the one I lumed is 44mm

My watch measures 45ish mm across the bezel.

Is mine a UPO? What is the new dial from?

Thanks.

If I had the faintest idea I'd be happy to tell you :)

That seems a big dial for a Sea Master. Were there two gen sizes?

One things for shure. Somone here will know and should be along soonish.

Nice job on the lume BTW.

The left dial is from a 42mm version and the feet position is for ETA movements, the right dial that you relumed is from a 45mm version with feets for Asian movement... ;)

But do all the 45.5MM versions have those rounded edges? I seem to recall the UPO dial being more correct than that when I had my UPO before getting the gen. Both the 42MM and 45.5MM gen dials have very sharp DW and centerpost edges as shown in this pic...

I answered my own question. Here is dluddy's near perfect UPO dial without any rounded edges. I guess that relumed dial from the OP must have been from an Asian watch that wasn't technically the "ultimate" version? I never knew the dials were different. I thought all the 45.5MM version dials were basically the same except for the logo feet, which dluddy swapped from a Silix version I think. So now I guess we know some of the Asian version dials have these rounded edges then...

Just to add a little extra info, my Planet Oceans, 45, 42 and 42 Pumpkin all have the same chamfered edging on the date window, but they are not 'stepped down' a level from the surface of the dial, as the dials in Robbie's and dluddy's watches are. All my Planet Oceans have the original 'Asian' factory dials, so neither 'ultimate' nor gen dials...

Hope that's of help :)

I owned from trusty the latest model before the Ultimate. It was the so called "5th generation". The dials were similar from size, only the lume was on the Utimate stronger.

BTW: Here is a shot from my PO:
