I completely agree. My gen sub barely ever gets a mark on it. I probably wear it 30% of the time as a daily beater. My reps used to look beat up by the time I got a dress shirt on. (ok i'm exaggerating). The only gen watches that are an exception are a couple of seikos I own. They seem to scratch at least as easily as the reps.

Yeah I guess you're right. I would have settled for the new liquidmetal PO 45mm but apparently there is little to no AR on the rep

Rehaut on the new one looks good. The bezel pearl and insert is garbage. The bezel itself looks half decent. Crown is garbage. Crystal still wrong. They got rid of the crappy rolex crown on the crystal. Overall I think it's an improvement, but still not quite a super rep.

Funny story about the knife. This applies to "experts" in a most areas. Often full of BS - not expertise.

Nice pics! Mine just came arrived. H factory (v2 maker) with superlume. There's no point in posting any photos lol. This watch is spectacular - way better than the v3 IMO. Lume is very gen, about equivalent to my gen B1. The colour of the DLC is spot on. The dial is excellent, and the AR is perfect. The Ocean Racer is good, although very vanilla. The deployant micro adjuster works like the gen, but the clasp button on one side is a little flimsy. The flaws in this watch are so small that you have to know what you're looking for and most people don't. I'm a detail oriented person and this watch is good enough for me. The only thing this watch really needs is a gen bezel spring. This is my first SA (won't be my last) and it freaking HUGE. Movement wise, I have not opened the back or disassembled the movement but it seems much smoother than the v2 AS blacksteel that I had - I'm hoping that it's properly oiled haha. If you like the SA Blacksteel, you have to have this watch!

If you're in the market for lenses, check out the samyang 14mm f2.8. it's a manual lens that blows pretty much everything else out of the water, and it's CHEAP! Don't listen to the nikon/canon snobs, take a look at test photos. I'm not sure there is a sharper lens on the planet (at this focal length), and there is virtually no CA. You might want to add it to your arsenal, I just did. smc

What I don't understand is why the rep manufacturers can't make the bezel work the same as the gen. Am I missing something? Seems like a pretty easy proposition to me.

Blacksteel. I have a B1 and will buy a gen SA soon. Won't spend the money on a watch that can't be polished even though I really like the design.
