Hi all,

The tiltle says it all.

Sorry to bug you but I have been looking everywhere for an app that could boost the volumes on an iPhone.

Even if I do boost it in Audition, the phone puts it back to a low level.

After 30 years of music in the ears via headphones, I'm really earing impared

Cheers and thanks for your help

Stephane

Amen. That is my only connection to the old world with these new phones - although there are less and less true old tones around. Even the classic phone ringtones are starting to sound like they were on Star Trek to me. I have a usual phone system here in the office but all the ringers are off and we have an old style analog phone with a bell in it that is the only one that rings. Wouldn't have it any other way. We don't dial much with it though. :D

To be honest, I've found the 'old phone' ringtone hard to hear in some situations (such as walking by a busy road) and according to the hearing check apps, my hearing is fine  If there's a way of boosting that louder, I'd also be interested to know :)

Ringtone: Use the one that sounds like a real phone as it's loud enough to cut through anything. If you insist on using a personal one you've boosted, turn off Soundcheck.

I'm using the iPhone default regular phone "old phone" but can't hear it.

Sorry but was is SoundCheck? Is it the general setting volume? If so, it's at the maximum... :(

You must jailbreak your phone,

than you can install a volumeboost from Cydia or Installer.

I had this problem also in the past.

I did.

I'll have a look in Cydia.

Thanks Tribal.

Any name to look for or is it just VolumeBoost ?

BTW: I'm in 2.1

EDIT:

Here is what I found and installed http://cydia.iclarified.com/

But that doesn't seem to help though...

Soundcheck is Soundcheck. It's in the iPod settings.

Ok, well mine is french speaking so I guess it's what I thought.

Anyway, I downloaded and installed from cydia.iclarified.com the Volume booster 2.1.0 (toghether with the spell checker disable tool).

It doesn't really boost the sound at all.

So I guess I will have to go back to Nokia when my ears will be even worse.

Just cover the phone in razor blades, put it on vibrate, then

stuff it down your pants.

That should get your attention when it rings!
