Seadweller4000
Today I read that the Ingenieur 3227 will go out of production this year. Even though I love their watches, I also hate IWC's model policy. I can't believe they discontinue this watch. I am glad that we don't have this problem with our replicas yet. lazarini
Interesting news... i for one would expect they hold on with this model for a few years to come... by far the iconic looking piece from the current inge lineup. regards Laz

Seadweller4000
I have a gen, I hope it's price will increase with years... Don't count on it. IWC is starting too many new models while they shut down some every few years. I wonder how long the aquatimers will survive with the new ones coming... Remember GST? RobbieG
IMO this policy doesn't say much for the iconic nature of the brand when they have to completely shut models down and redesign them every few years. One of the very dime store fly by night qualities of the brand that keeps it from getting respect from many WIS and certainly the rest of their peers. These policies are mistakes for any luxury brand seeking staying power...

World Traveller
I think watch companies are moving to designs that are difficult to duplicate and emphasize the mechanical parts and design, such as the Defy Xtreme Zenith line. Wonder if IWC is going in that direction, away from watches that are duplicated by Chinese 2 weeks after they are out.
