By-Tor
4th Gen PO was a good rep, but not great by today's standards. Lots of members would like to see an updated 42mm version, with double AR, better bracelet and stuff... I don't know if it's a realistic wish, but we can live in hope. I am VERY surprised we have not seen an "ultimate" version of the 42mm PO. Reading across all the watch boards (RWG, RG, RWI, etc) I think the demand is very strong.... whitestripes
I don't know what goes through the minds of the rep factories. It seems like they focus on anything with a 7750 mov't, >= 44mm, and as colorful or blingy as possible. What happened to the classics??? 42mm PO and IWC Mark XVI and I'd be a happy man. I almost get tired of typing those names because I know it's all for naught.
RobbieG
The only hope would be that they will do it now since the new Bond movie featured the 42MM size, but I doubt it. The rep industry operates on momentum, and at this point there is no momentum for the Planet Ocean in the industry like their was with Casino Royal and prior. You can always save up and get the gen. They can be had pretty reasonably used as there are always plenty around. Agree with Whitestripes as well. Seems like what ever I want repped is either at the bottom or not on the list as my taste is in the more conservative designs. That is a big reason why I ended up with so many gens. As an example, the 45.5MM PO rep is really great, but it was too big for my taste so I sold it and bought the gen in the smaller size. Hey, another PO thread. Sound like a great opportunity for....pics! LONG LIVE THE MIGHTY PO (and cut the crap with all the 7750 watches Mr. Rep Factory Guy. Lets see more 2892 clone stuff!) tmeister
My friend in HKong visited me here in Japan and brought back my request for the 42mmPO. Posted here, guys said it was either 3rd or 4th verson....whatever....it is a great watch, keeps great time and feels great on the wrist. He lives in Kowloon and went to the mainland area where the watch factories are, scouted mine out there. The HE valve is at the 10 position and the bracelet had the faulty pin (which he is returning it soon for repair). So the 42mms are still around, but maybe hard to find. ta8088
Just keep an eye on the FS sections here and at the other forums. The 4th gen ones do turn up for sale once in a while. In fact over the past month or so I know I have seen a couple go up for sale. You might also try posting a WTB as well. I would love to see the 42mm PO redone as an Ultimate as well but I'm not getting my hopes up. Seems that they are too interested in making $400-600 A7750 based reps

You can tell by the bezel and date window position.

Sorry, Whitestripes, it IS a 42mm bezel width to crown as is my orange bezel version, sourced in China Jimster, mine are not modded. Came as you see it from China, picked by my friend who can speak some Chinese. He likely asked for a higher end movement , as this black version is the cat's meow! (sorry for the old expression haha!)
hackR
@whitestripes --> This model looks the same as the PO i just recieved from Narikaa a couple weeks ago... This 42mm PO has some 45mm features: bezel, "Professional" on the clasp, etc...it also has light AR coating...nothing like double AR from chieftang, etc, but not bad... see this thread for more pix and other latest 42mm PO comments...
