Pugwash Posted July 30, 2006 Report Posted July 30, 2006 (edited) I was planning on writing a Photoshop tutorial to show you how to do this: The problem was that it was over 40 screenshots making it rather too large. Then, it hit me: I can write music, I can edit movies, I can take photographs, I'm very much part of the iLife generation ... why not do a complete and utter show-off movie and combine the lot? So, I did. Here it is: Pugwash's Photoshop Movie (4MB Quicktime) Edit: Add better and smaller movie. Move old link here.Pugwash's Photoshop Movie (10MB MPEG4) Edited July 30, 2006 by Pugwash
Dani Posted July 30, 2006 Report Posted July 30, 2006 I did not get any smarter when it comes to PS but thanks anyways
Usil Posted July 30, 2006 Report Posted July 30, 2006 Nice project for a rainy afternoon in Paris. Usil
Pugwash Posted July 30, 2006 Author Report Posted July 30, 2006 Nice project for a rainy afternoon in Paris. I was planning on hitting Paris Plage, but ... well, you saw the weather. So, I hit Photoshop instead.
TwoTone Posted July 30, 2006 Report Posted July 30, 2006 Nice work Pug... A notepad, pencil, & the pause button give me a lot of information... First I need t get a decent camera though... TT
Pugwash Posted July 30, 2006 Author Report Posted July 30, 2006 A notepad, pencil, & the pause button give me a lot of information... You don't need to sit on the pause button. In Quicktime, pause the video and use the left/right buttons on your keyboard to cycle through the images. If there is enough interest, I'll make the screenshots available full-size online. ps. All questions/comments/etc. should be posted to this thread and not to my PM box as I think if I get two more PMs, my box is full.
Pugwash Posted July 30, 2006 Author Report Posted July 30, 2006 In Quicktime, pause the video and use the left/right buttons on your keyboard to cycle through the images. ...and if you are trying to see the sequence, look on the right in the History palette and you can see the steps listed. Also, look at the clock and that should give you an indication of how long the whole process should take. The problem with navigating with the arrow keys is that you miss my piano piece.

Pug: With the level of your contribution to the board, I bet if you ask admin to up your storage, he just might grant it... Just a thought... TT
Pugwash Posted July 30, 2006 Author Report Posted July 30, 2006 Pug: With the level of your contribution to the board, I bet if you ask admin to up your storage, he just might grant it... Good idea, but I prefer to encourage people to reply to threads regardless.
KB Posted July 30, 2006 Report Posted July 30, 2006 And to reply to your thread is exactly what I am going to do! Pug that is a superb guide you have posted, but the movie format was just a touch of excellence Ken
Pugwash Posted July 30, 2006 Author Report Posted July 30, 2006 Pug that is a superb guide you have posted, but the movie format was just a touch of excellence Thanks. Now, who's going to be the first to give it a go?

KB Posted July 30, 2006 Report Posted July 30, 2006 Now, who's going to be the first to give it a go? My money is on Randy, seeing as he is reading this right now Ken Edit.........oops he posted before me too
Pugwash Posted July 30, 2006 Author Report Posted July 30, 2006 Excellent stuff. Now, if the video isn't clear enough, I can always help you out.
ubiquitous Posted July 30, 2006 Report Posted July 30, 2006 I'll have to watch it a few more times, take some notes, and then I'll snap a granite-less pic to work with Then... Perhaps if I can find some time tonight, maybe after my wife and son are sleeping, I'll give it a try
cwai02 Posted July 30, 2006 Report Posted July 30, 2006 (edited) Good job. It's wise to learn some basic photoshop skills before upgrading your camera. Edited July 30, 2006 by cwai02
Pugwash Posted July 30, 2006 Author Report Posted July 30, 2006 For reference, here's the picture as it came off the camera:

Pugwash Posted July 31, 2006 Author Report Posted July 31, 2006 Very nice guide. Ahh... the wonderful world of macs Indeed, but the Photoshop portion could have been done on a PC, if needed. Don't be put off, PC-Users!
Pugwash Posted August 8, 2006 Author Report Posted August 8, 2006 For all of those who want to share this with your non-rep wearing friends, here's a rep-safe version with a Seiko Gen. Pugwash's Photoshop Video (Quicktime 4.7MB)
