vulcangascompany
My Planet Ocean 42mm arrived from WatchEden (thanks!) and i'm pretty pleased with it overall. Its my first rep watch so I decided to take some snaps - first time i've photographed a watch and its pretty difficult i'm sure I can improve over time and practice. I was going to wait for Narikaas offer but the plastic strap on this one swung it for me. But now i've got the rep bug I might well buy one from him as well maybe put on a NATO (?) As to the plus / minus points..Good dealer as far as i'm concerned WatchEden good comms, no customs probs and turnaround 1 wk from order. The strap I really like, the watch is well finished, heavy n chunky and solid. Haven't tried the lume yet. My only slight criticism is the slight smudge in the dial printing but its only seen through a lupe and how many of us look at other watches with a magnifier (!) So all in all a great purchase (especially for plastic strap fans) for

DemonSlayer
Is that the UPO 22mm rubber strap squeezed in between the lugs?
vulcangascompany
Just measured the strap it is 20mm across, although it does look a tight squeeze between the lugs.

hackR
V -- congrats on a great looking watch...enjoy it and enjoy the comaraderie of our world... quick comments to keep in mind: 0) watcheden is a reputable dealer...don't forget the $20usd off coupon which is good on ALL watches in a single order... 1) watcheden drop-ships watches - meaning they take the order and send it to 'the factory' - where it is then sent to you...there's not a lot of QC going on with drop-shipping...some of the "cartel" dealers (and others you will discover here; Hont, for example) do QC...usually the QC service comes at an increased price...i have used watcheden a number of times...and have had to send a couple watches back...the process takes time, but they are good about it...there is some "risk" in sending it back, but i have not had any problems doing so from the US... 2) for some watches, it's tough to get a steel bracelet at a later time from the dealers...they do come up thru member sales from time2time...rubber and leather straps are easier to come by later...so, at times, you may want to buy a watch with a steel bracelet and buy rubber or leather later -- prices can range from $20-$40usd... 3) great pix...it's a bit tricky sometimes, but nonetheless, fun...great first post!... welcome to the show!...R
mick92627
Sweet ride. Thanks for the pics. Is the 42mm considered a UPO like its big brother? I was going to go for the 45mm, but it just seems so big. I think I might go for the 42mm even if it's not an ultimate, but I wanted to see what the informed consesus here was. vulcangascompany
Just discovered that the helium valve unscrews and screws back again - doesn't do anything ha ha, but very nice detail that I wasn't expecting..

They are prepared to replace goods, but they do not do any QC beforehand. EuroTimez QC's watches, as I believe do Narikaa and BK, but not the Cartel

Cheers The 'U' prefix only applies to a particular (ultimate) generation of 45mm Planet Ocean. If you can track down a 5th generation 42mm, that's about as good as it gets in that size, it's then a case of modding it to get 'perfection' If you're concerned about the size, the best bet is to go to an AD and try them both on, but not atthe same time, or the 45mm will appear huge (as the eye would be comparing it to the smaller watch) The 45 wears smaller on rubber, and the 42 wears larger on SS, but either way, the Planet Ocean is an awesome watch

TeeJay
thx TJ why do u suspect that? i think thats gona be my first project, a UPO or a casino royale PO combined with a gen dial and double AR, but i want an asian movement not ETA It really is just a hunch, but I can't imagine that the dials would be drastically different in size I'm sure if you were to ask someone for the diameters of both rep and gen dials, they'll be pretty close, and, if the gen dial were to be marginally too big, you could always carefully sand down the edge a little to get a perfect fit If you want to put it on an Asian movement, then the dial feet might well be in the wrong place, but, all you'd need to do, would be to snap them off with the flat of a screwdriver, and put a couple of 2mm x 2mm tags of double sided tape in the center of the movement, line the dial up and press it into place, and it'll be securely fixed in place

Well, you were asking about the same watch from the same dealer, so it is marginally on topic And, as you say, someone else reading might also find the information useful
