Bazz
I have had some minor issues with the movement that came in this one over last few months, nothing that cant be fixed but decided the least it deserved was new eta 2892. I have put on a few gen parts on it over the last couple of years and it is still my number 1 (I know some people think the 007 bits on it are a bit naff but I cant help but like this one). Bazz
Thanks guys @ fitmic I have changed the dial and hands, crown and tube, movement and case clamps. Anyone who has one of these should check the case clamps as mine had two stuck on top of each other per side as they were not long enough. I have heard of others with this model having this problem and one side of my movement came free then had a clamp floating around, I ordered replacements for mine from here Click Me! Bazz
My 007 came with the chinese seagull movement, it ended up with a few problems over time and long story short is that I ended up replacing it with a ETA 2892. I thought it would be a good chance to look at some of the differences as there always seems to be a lot of uncertainty over this movement. The top picture is the chinese movement. The easiest way to tell if its a chinese one is is the regulator is riveted where as the eta can be adjusted and removed. I'm not saying that there is anything wrong with the chinese ones as you very rarely hear of problems but looking at some of the picas of supposed eta 2892 (some are even stamped) they all have riveted regulators. I have never seen a ETA movement with a riveted regulator especially in one of their high end movents such as the 2892.

supermanx
I just got one from Raymond Lee, makes a marked improvement, the rep bezel is way too bright. The real insert is very close to the color of the dial.

melvin.x
I ordered a blue bezel insert from Raymond Lee a few weeks ago and it looked like this (on the left): Is it only me who thinks that it is even purple and not blue ? I´m still searching for a decent bezel insert, but did not find it at ebay. I would appreciate any suggestions... Greetings DJ
Bazz
Yea the insert maybe appears a little bright in the pics due to the lighting, it is darker under normal light. The pearls quite good on it though. Edited September 3, 2006 by Bazz
