oncyte Posted June 15, 2009 Report Posted June 15, 2009 Well...the final piece was finally installed. I managed to get a sapphire crystal with an embedded cyclopse with a really nice mag. I feel that this is as close to gen as this watch can go without swapping gen parts into it. If anyone has a really good picture of the gen 029b (L SWISS MADE L) I'd really appreciate it if you could post it up. From the crappy gen pics I have i'd say it seems pretty spot on. Here are some pics....enjoy! I went Artsy fartsy on these pics.... My standard kitchen counter top shot... And here it is outside in natural lighting..
Ronin Posted June 15, 2009 Report Posted June 15, 2009 Very nice. Out of curiosity, what date wheel is that? Lello? Also, nice straps? Whos?
oncyte Posted June 15, 2009 Author Report Posted June 15, 2009 Very nice. Out of curiosity, what date wheel is that? Lello? Also, nice straps? Whos? Yup...it's a Lello...but the cyclopse makes a huge difference as well. pic 1: rep black calf (gen black calf and buckle are enroute!) pic 2: George Lan tan vachetta pic 3: Theyo blue steel
siesta181 Posted June 15, 2009 Report Posted June 15, 2009 Congrats man..... I am wearing mine as we speak. Understated and underapprecaited beauty. Lelo datewheel makes all the difference imho
Watchmeister Posted June 15, 2009 Report Posted June 15, 2009 It looks great. Congratulations on a wonderful watch. Wear that watch well.
dluddy Posted June 15, 2009 Report Posted June 15, 2009 Looks great. Congrats on finishing it and thanks for sharing
ubiquitous Posted June 15, 2009 Report Posted June 15, 2009 Fantastic. Tux dial 029 is just gorgeous!
fishgodeep Posted June 16, 2009 Report Posted June 16, 2009 Great watch very well done- 29 is one of my all time favourites! Thanks for sharing and enjoy FGD
kidge007 Posted June 16, 2009 Report Posted June 16, 2009 Trying to get the parts together to make one myself. Great looking watch, well done.
oncyte Posted June 17, 2009 Author Report Posted June 17, 2009 Thank you all for the comments! It was difficult finding a 029 with the correct bezel with stretched numbers like the gen and this also seems to have one of the best dials I've seen. The last challenge is finding the perfect strap for the 029.
repwatch Posted June 17, 2009 Report Posted June 17, 2009 Just bought a nice 29B from another member...really nice one....Here are some of his pics (will post more pics with my new straps): 2893-2 movement, Lello DW, oem crown, vaclume, proper CB, watchmen cyclops
