addingwatch Posted June 15, 2009 Report Posted June 15, 2009 .Another "restoration project" completed. Everything works correctly. The 6036 is one of my favorite vintage Rolex watches. Regards.
freddy333 Posted June 15, 2009 Report Posted June 15, 2009 Looks good. What did the restoration consist of?
addingwatch Posted June 15, 2009 Author Report Posted June 15, 2009 @Freddy - since I have no watch skills, for me it was just sourcing the parts and paying a lot of money. Regards.
bluebite Posted June 15, 2009 Report Posted June 15, 2009 Another "restoration project" completed. Everything works correctly. The 6036 is one of my favorite vintage Rolex watches. Regards. Just...wow. How did your watchmaker obtain that dial ageing?
alligoat Posted June 15, 2009 Report Posted June 15, 2009 Looks Beautiful! Like Freddy, I'd love to hear the details. Case looks pretty pristine, alpha hands, pointer on the balance bridge... 50's V72C.
addingwatch Posted June 15, 2009 Author Report Posted June 15, 2009 The V72 movement started out as a Gallet with full plates and markings from Phong. The case is also from Phong and needs a little "softening". The dial is a custom that I acquired a while back. The dial color is not painted, but has been somehow "stained". It really looks 50 years old. The pushers and crown are supposed to be original (hard to tell, but they fit correctly). The hands were also sourced by Phong. Regards.
alligoat Posted June 15, 2009 Report Posted June 15, 2009 A little aging of the case and it will be one 'top notch' watch. BEAUTIFUL!
jfreeman420 Posted June 16, 2009 Report Posted June 16, 2009 Your projects never cease to amaze me. Good to see you posting. Anything else in the cooker?
