Victoria
Eggsactly what I thought. Coupled with the fact that China's economic growth turns out is much less than calculated, seems the yolks on them. http://www.latimes.com/news/opinion/sunday...nday-commentary
TeeJay
Wow. I'm not sure wether to be impressed, or appalled... Repping products like bags and watches is one thing, they still (to a degree) do what they're supposed to do, but repping food, which could be someone's important meal... That's just wrong... Pugwash
Mr. Wang then bought some materials - chemical food additive- and exposed to the reporter how to make fake eggs. Come on, this has to be a joke.

Victoria
LIB ALERT!! Heh. It is the LAT, CT. In reality, the Chinese tend to save their money a lot more than Americans. I personally always enjoy the unsubtle cheerleading that overcomes certain people when speaking of China versus the USA. "Under the old figures, China was predicted to pass the United States as the world's largest economy in 2012. That isn't going to happen." And a sober parting shot for the New Year, in case anyone was thinking of actually having FUN in the West: "But don't pop the champagne corks. It is bad news that billions of people are significantly poorer than we thought." Quite so. Let's hope they can lay their hands on their fake eggs, and fake medicines, and anything else that is fake that affects people's HEALTHS...and throw them away. Pugwash
LIB ALERT!! You mean Socialist Alert, surely. Or is anything not your flavour of fascism Conservatism called Liberalism now?
Victoria
You mean Socialist Alert, surely. The LAT are not Socialist, they're liberal in the American sense, Pugwash. But then you know that, right? Liberal in Europe = pro-free-market economy known loosely as "globalisation" Liberal in North America = anything left of centre Of course, there are the Canadian Red Tories. Not sure how that works out. Or is anything not your flavour of fascism Conservatism called Liberalism now? I think your point would've been stronger without the accidentally-on-purpose-wink-wink-nudge-nudge strikeout.
Pugwash
The LAT are not Socialist, they're liberal in the American sense, Pugwash. But then you know that, right? Of course. However, the social security comment, regardless of the source, was a socialist comment not a US liberal one. There's no need for a liberal alert when you're reading the LAT as it's a given. What next, Conservative alerts when we're quoting Fox News? I think your point would've been stronger without the accidentally-on-purpose-wink-wink-nudge-nudge strikeout. I was pointing out the logical conclusion of his "if you're not with us, you're against us" political stance using humour. Admittedly it was cheap humour, but it's Hogmanay, so I wanted to make it perfectly clear it was a joke.

rodwc
Come on, this has to be a joke. If that is , What about this ? China: 100,000 pairs of used chopsticks sold without disinfection every day Posted by chinaview on August 22, 2007 Reuters, Wed Aug 22, 2007- BEIJING (Reuters) - A Beijing factory recycled used chopsticks and sold up to 100,000 pairs a day without any form of disinfection, a newspaper said on Wednesday, the latest is a string of food and product safety scares. Counterfeit, shoddy and dangerous products are widespread in China, whose exports have been rocked in recent months by a spate of safety scandals, ranging from pet food to medicine, tires, toothpaste and toys. Officials raided the factory and seized about half a million pairs of recycled disposable bamboo chopsticks and a packaging machine, the Beijing News said. The owner, identified only by his surname Wu, said he had sold the recycled chopsticks for 0.04 yuan a pair and made an average of about 1,000 yuan ($130) a day. Wu, who had no license to sell the goods, said he had sold 100,000 pairs a day when business was good. HauteHippie
You mean Socialist Alert, surely. Or is anything not your flavour of fascism Conservatism called Liberalism now? There really isn't much of a difference between libs and socialists these days. As for conservatism vs. facism, there is a world of difference. Most conservatives favor smaller government and individual rights. Facism, on the other hand, is authoritarianism combined with collectivism. That LAT article was written by a CFR guy, IIRC. I guess they are more pro-globalist than anything else.

POTR
I view everything as a 4D target ...X,Y,Z over Time To conceptualize this as it applies to politics, imagine all things good and correct as our solar systems sun... Some US Conservatives in an expanding zig zag orbit somewhere around the asteroid belt tightly intertwined with some US Liberals counter-orbit... not too far from UK Liberals somewhere in Jupiter's path, and we can see the most rabid of our under-educated, over-self-estimated US Ultra-Liberals and similarly accoutred US Ultra-Conservatives flying out past Uranus rapidly toward Alpha Centauri along with their other useful idiot cousins from anywhere they will blindly stick there heads up the nearest billionaire's or politician's or prophet's ass who will promise them peace or virgins or fame or no blame in exchange for making them more powerful (Soros, Bin-Laden, Putin, Bush, your favorite big enemy)... and most of the rest of the crazies on this planet conceptually scattered out mostly amongst the the space between Neptune to Pluto but ranging as far out as the farthest star chasing some other version of the truth that they don't belong to... I'm kickin' back on Mercury, watchin' the show... no hurry to dive in... besides, I'm already as hot as I care too be. As far as the fake eggs go, I'd say, China will soon outlaw them, paving the way for mass export to the US.

All politicking in Canada at a national level is done in the middle with only rhetoric and posturing used differentiate the parties. Point in fact all governing parties on the national scene in Canada have governed in the middle for the past 30 years +/-. They is very little difference in how Liberals and Conservatives have governed. In Canada we the electorate don't so much Vote them is as we instead throw the bums out. "Red Tory" is a slogan used to describe the middle leaning Conservatives.

I'd just like to say that whilst I agree with you, from what I know of Canadian politics what you said is fairly true, I can surmise you live in Eastern Anglo-dominant Canada: you forgot the Bloc Qu
