  3. Hi there, well, I was after a gen GMT Master II for a looooong time. Decided to buy one, decided against it again. Sold other watches to fund one and bought something else... No I finally got an offer that was good enough for me. It's a 16710 from 2001 with black/red bezel insert and lug holes (which I really like) in very good condition. I had to sell three of my gens to fund it but I think it was worth it. It's hard to explain but Rolex has a fascination of it's own. The watch is great, I love it. I looks and feels perfect in every way and I really think this is the first watch I will never sell again (except I really need the money but that's another thing). After comparing it to my rep Rollies (BK WM9 Sub v2 and a modded GMT IIc) I have to say the reps are scarily close. I really wouldn't be able to tell these are reps from just looking at them on someones wrist. The gen feels smoother but the differences are really really small! Sorry, only iPhone pics for now... Cheers, Whatever123

  5. So I finally broke down and bought myself a Watch Timer. I ended up going with the Bryan Mumford Microset Watch Timer Pro. It comes with a fantastic clamping watch sensor and a software interface for windows. I resurrected an ancient Dell Laptop that I had lying around and it's running like a champ. I don't know how I managed to get anywhere before having this. It is so helpful and informative! Here's a few pics. I was fortunate enough to have Nanuq's famous MBK DRSD in house and so it became my first test subject. When I started off the watch (using a 2836-2) was running at around +26sec/day. I dismantled the watch to repair the seconds hand pinion (it had remnants of an old seconds hand tube stuck on it). Reassembled the movement, got the date wheel remounted and set off to test it again. Still running at +26sec/day. While running in Paper tape mode, slowly adjusted the regulator screw to slow it down. After some slight adjustments (and we are talking minor here) got the movement running at +1.6sec/day

  8. The community is what this is all about and my goal is always to imrpove the community. This is also the whole idea behind the classifieds/sales area; to make a better sales area that is easily accessible to all members and that will function much better than our current sales threads

  10. Hi guys, whaddya think? Any flaws. My concerns: 1. date could sit a little higher in the date wheel window 2. Is the space between the bezel and case too much or the norm? 3. the seperate blue dial date window on the right has some unfinished material sticking out from the top 4. Kind of looks like the new batch could have double AR (not a concern )) or could just be the angle of the shots Chime in guys! thanks On2 the pics
