  1. Please do let us know how it looks in the flesh, post a few pics when you get it. I'm very interested to know how these turn out, there has been a few updates to the mark xvi's of late such as AR and case improvements and it looks like they are approaching very good replication finally. The black is more focused on but it would be interesting to know how they dealt with the dial on the silver one above as it is a little more complex. The movement should be fine btw the 2892 asian eta clone is a pretty reliable movement, it's usually a seagull ST18 and is a direct clone of the eta2892 and are great usually out of the box, for extra reliability, if serviced it should be equally as reliable as any swiss 2892 which has a track record as a fantastic movement.

  2. Are you sure this isn't a 5500 Explorer ? It would be the smaller 34mm case. The 1016 has 'Superlative Chronometer Officially Certified' on the dial and the 1570 movement like you say. The 5500 was marked 'Precision ' and had either a 1530 or later the 1520. Looks to me like a 5500. Also, the end links on the bracelet are wrong- they fit terribly.

  3. There is only one thing that matters. What you enjoy. We used to have threads on subs, everyone was obsessed with crown guards on the subs. I remember somebody put his up for review and the "experts" started railing on the crown guards. But, it was a GEN!!! I have run into 1 person ever with a gen fiddy. 99.99999999 you will ever meet will. Have never seen a Pam in the wild or in a store. Rolex, yes. But couldn't tell real from fake breitling, omega after that forget about it. If your not wearing it for you, your wasting your time. I know a lot of wealthy people. And the ones that are really wealthy. Will tell you their gen is a fake. And usually have gens and fakes. The ones that are marginally wealthy or new to it, flaunt it. Of course, having your own jet, does give it away. Have some fun with it. Research some straps. Look into what you might find better in your next incarnation. The hunt (like everything else) is usually the best part of the hobby. Having everything come easy and perfect gets really boring really quick
