  2. What interesting is that Bk says he will be offering the WM4 (tc sub) case in the future, but at a different price point. I'm for one is going to hold out for the 3135 to be ready for prime time and then jump in and build a BK super franken (gen insert, dial, crystal, crown, bracelet) with a WM4 case (it maybe a WM5 by the time the 3135 is viable).

  3. I'm sitting on the fence in anticipation of buying a TC sub and have not committed yet because of the very same reasons Cougar. I'll be following this thread with interest! I'm torn between the two and have had a hard time deciding which to get, I'm a lume freak and the BK has the edge so far. But if the TC is a better overall case I could always have the dial and hands relumed if it's not good enough. Can't wait to hear the responses from the TC/BK owners!

  4. You said almost everything, the possibilty to accept gen parts is the main advantage, and almost everyone willing to spend around 800-1000$ will upgrade his sub with gen parts, otherwise they would prefer a 300$ standard rep. That's my opinion. In addition I guess there's also the Mac effect, how many people upgraded their Iphone 4 with a 4s only because it's newer? But the fact that you don't see people posting their Bk or Noob sub doesn't mean that they stopped buying them

  9. Great responses so far. Context, age, and where you are located are all key. In my geographic location: Gen's are everywhere. My Age is greater than 35: By this stage in life, most anyone could afford/own/buy a Gen So, nope. I think I am passed being asked the question. Although, many friends I have handed GEN Rolex's to, that knew they were Gen, all responded with "I thought it would have been heavier and going by feel would have thought it to be fake!" (Gen Stainless, Hollow Mid's) Finally, the "It's a Rolex, it must be fake" is so statistically inaccurate that comment just shows ignorance IMHO. Rolex produces around 700,000 watches a year, and there are roughly 40,000 members of the Rep Community. About 1 in 6 Rolex's in the wild is probably fake. A betting man would bet on Gen.

  10. I'm listening to Radiohead. In Rainbows. I actually waited to get it on CD. Buying it at 160Kbps did not cut it for me. I need to hear it on a good set of speakers with some volume. And none of this 128kbps iTunes [censored]! And while I'm on the topic of digital. How about I extend the question and include: How do you listen to your music? I recently ripped my whole collection to Apple Lossless. (others prefer FLAC, but I run iTunes) Hard drives are cheap, so I'm not concerned of file size. I have 340+ Gigs of music running from my iMac hardwired to my home stereo. iTunes is shared so my wife can access with her Powerbook and I can also access with my Macbook Pro when I'm downstairs fiddling with watch parts. Yeah, I'm a Mac geek. I'm eagerly waiting to pick up the new Time Capsule in 1TB!
