Got a pm from Hugo on rg a couple of hours ago. Seemed alive and kickin'.

This watch started out as a legendary tribal Great White MBK build with a few OEM parts built into it. Not quite a Franken but a legendary 1665 non the less built by the best (the original Tribal modded NDT Great White Dial is up in the parts thread if someone wants it) I had always wanted a DRSD though as gorgous as tribals Great white dial is So I decided on the Yuki patina version in a leap of faith and although the NDT's may be the Cadillacs this particular Yuki is stunningly close and the watch perfectly matches a gen for sale on ebay right now I found a minty 1570 with original (also minty) silver datewheel a new OEM insert with OEM Lumi Pearl from my buddy Nakor the build already had OEM crystal, tube, HE valve and crown installed in the case set I am swapping casebacks with Mapman as he has the correct MBK DR and I have the correct MBK GW. So what do you think? I love it. Would love to get an OEM bracelet for it at some point if every OEM 1665 I saw for sale didn't looked stretched out to sh*t.

Not to sound like a n00b. (Though I totally am one.) What is the MBW case? I've looked around the forum and have never really found a simple answer. Is MBW a person? Is it just a 5513 super case or are there lots of different MBW cases? I take it from the tones of hushed reverence used when speaking of it that it's no longer available.

The Gen price doesn't really come into it for me really, I look for a watch that appeals to me in looks and wear-ability, my nature is addictive so like most of us I have a few watches in the box, my only rule is that any purchase must be affordable from disposable income that I have (and the wife doesn't see it come in the post!) I love this hobby of ours, I get a great kick out of it and to be honest If I'm asked about a watch I'm wearing I offer the details and the 'is it gen' question hasn't come up yet. Most people do not have the faintest idea what make of watch your wearing or how much what you have on your wrist costs if it were Genuine imo I think I remember the post your talking about from a while ago, tbh the guy seemed like a [censored] who tried to belittle someone else by passing his reps as Gens, the guy's a loser! Rep's these days are pretty bloody good in their own right, Qc issues etc are much better than they were 15 yrs ago when I bought them and hey they tell the time pretty well too

Let's have a little correction, iceberg. You pm'd me the 14th and I replied asking for your vetting details the 15th. You sent them 1:35am today. How is that "days" of waiting? Consider that we might not have approved your request for a high value sales at all. And certainly we would not have done the amount of work necessary to approve you beyond a reasonable doubt between now and the 14th. If you're in that much of a hurry, sell it elsewhere. And consider an apology for complaining about a 36 hour delay between your request and my response. Like Freddy said we too have a life, and mine is not spent behind a computer. no the crystal should stay on, a sharp case knife can be used to pry the bezel up evenly all around, i thin put the bexel in my lathe and do the brushing to get it all nice and round
