  1. I was excited the whole weekend because TC DWO V3 bulk order came in. I played with it and checked every little detail against the gen. I also put half dozen of the V3 DWO on TC 2824 movements. Let us turn back time almost an year ago when we were struggling for a better, lighter, white base color: $15 TC Rolex Font Date Wheel Overlay Version 2. Now we are looking at this - correct white base, each date is raise printed in high gloss. Let's take a look at some of the dates. I am VERY excited the printer was able to get rid of the leaked edges found in the pilot samples. Now we are a step closer. Early this month, I made an extended stay in Asia to discuss details of a possible deal with the maker who made this. I said I would update TC gen spec bezel project in my last blog entry but haven't done that. I will try to find time to update that as well as possible new version of 93250 and 93253 project in the following weeks. Now I need to focus in making some TC Subs. Folks who made orders earlier, I apologize for the delay. TC 5/26/13

  5. A lot of watches have been reviewed here that make claims we've proved not to be true. I'm sure other rep goods are the same. If it says UVA/B Protected, how are you going to verify that claim for yourself? The zipper will break prematurely on a fake TNF Denali fleece, but it won't blind you. UV protection is something where you have to take their word for it. I'm just not ready to do that.

  6. Just finished watching it (recorded it on my DVR from 4am PST). Fantastic that Rosberg wins 30 years to the day that his father won it. What an amazing legacy for his family.

  7. He's got those guys hired as his "media consultants"!!! Seriously, he has worked on several of my watches, and I have nothing but good things to say about his work. He's got two of my watches with him right now, and I'm sure both will be returned to me in top notch condition. It certainly is nice to have someone with the potential to replace Ziggy, now that he has announced his retirement from rep watch repairs. Also nice to be able to put a watch in a Priority mail box and it's in Mike' hands in two days with no customs worries and slow delivery times, cheaper too!!!

  11. Some gen owners (the ones actually interested in horology) carry a mix of gen and rep as it doesn't make financial sense to own 20 gens, especially to the richest folk, who can be rather tight with their dough. Those that have the passion for horology cannot be satisfied by 1 or two watches, gen or rep. If certain individuals are "full of ugly comments" about the rep industry and the community, they most likely no nothing about it at all. The fact is, if they did their research like the rest of us and knew something about the industry they would own a mix of gen and rep like a lot of our community! The type of individual to write such comments are probably so far up themselves, they have a perception that people are cheating 'status'. Status they feel they have worked so hard to earn. What they dont realise is the majority of our community couldn't give a rats ass about status, we just love timepieces, for whatever reason, and we all work hard in our respective fields. As an architect myself - the design, detail and engineering is what makes me tick. No pun intended. Finally the watch on your wrist is about yourself. I know people think they can assume a persons status by the watch as a symbol but IMO its impossible to judge someone by their timepiece and if you think you can then more fool you! Are you: A. The watch wearer as status symbol. B. The watch wearer as a student in horology. Just my penny.
