  3. You need to get a digital caliper and measure the inside of your crystal retention ring My 1680 retention Ring measures 30.21. I see on Ofrei the XS305-451 measures 30.48. This means I would not be able to get my retention ring around the XS305-451 crystal. I ran into this exact problem when I was trying to install a Tropic 19 that Gary Clark Sent me. It measured 30.39 and I couldnt get my retention ring around it. As you can see my Service 127 measures 30.25 and Service 19 measures 30.22. Which allows you to fit the retention ring around it snugly. Snug Fit

  5. Ofrei has the Sternkruz http://www.ofrei.com/page419.html XS305-451 They also have a good selection of GS crystals. Trevor's 5513 looks like a cartel model and I just got one and the T-19 which I had didn't fit, so I stuck with the domed crystal that came with the watch.

  6. If you're son takes to long to get you up to speed I have often found with new phones that someone went to the trouble to post a simple video tutorial on YouTube which gets you through the basics quickly. And you can try it real time while watching.....[emoji4]

  10. Looks great, but for 10k, I would be on the hunt for a red sub or a gilt sub...Maybe even a Tudor Gilt? Might be hard but not impossible to find a good example Jacek is one of the nicest and most professional dealers in vintage watches I have sold and bought from him, most recent being my 1680. Good Luck with your hunt.

  13. Agreed Nanuq! It's a nice example from a good seller. He is always willing to offer a discount on his listed prices so don't be shy to ask! He also takes trades and offers very fair value for your trade in, food for thought. I find these look best with all black inserts.. Bonus is that the radial dial goes with the all red gmt hand, if you ever found one it would make the watch seriously amazing.

  14. That's a pretty one for sure. I picked up my radial dial for a song because the seller thought it was a fake. One thing your example is missing is the extremely rare radial-date function, where there are two concentric date disks to show the date in two different time zones.
