  1. Going to try to keep this awesome piece for now. With service dial just in. Will send to Mike for weather sealing soon.

  2. thank God it's Saturday. I can smoke a stogie without worrying about smelling like a walking dead at the clinic. But... Which to choose? 3 favourites, this will be hard.

  4. I'm conflicted about the current rep of this watch. The caseset is steel not titanium, which would be a no-no if I were after the bracelet version, but I'd probably get the one with the Nylon strap and I could probably live with the steel caseset. Then the dial is pretty close but has Zr02 instead of Ti on it. https://vimeo.com/176922699 With my luck if I placed an order for the current 43.5 model, they'd release one with titanium caseset and the correct dial markings the following week!

  6. Cross7, welcome aboard! We embrace true enthusiasts here... and don't care if it's Timex or Rolex. Every brand has something to offer, as does every member. And we're all on a learning curve of some point so a little grace for each other is well understood (and appreciated!) You mentioned the amazing builds our members have put together. This evening I saw a watch on eBay priced at $175,000 that's *supposedly* genuine, although there are things about it that belie that claim. And a member here has put together a build of almost exactly that piece, and his build is better in every way than that eBay piece. I'll leave it to you to do the sleuthing and see what I mean. Welcome! You're among fellow WIS here.

  8. UPDATE: Since I am waiting for the crown to arrive, I finished my 1675. I still could not sit still so I tried a new method of polishing. I used different sand papers and polished with water. I just used cape cod for the last finish. Now it really has a good mirror finish and you could literally see me mirrored in the chamfers when I was taking the picture. Now I just have to be patient....

  9. I know! In 1976 my father bought an Omega memomatic, like this one. I always thought it looked light years ahead of its time. Now in the 2016 grey dial model, I feel they pay homage to this classic watch. Last years PloProf also came in the grey dial, but that's a tank of a watch.

  10. He's pretty decent like that. Once I asked him about an older Brietling rep and he warned me off them because the casesets weren't great. I've also found that if there's a replication that he likes, he'll record a video of it. He doesn't record videos for everything. Personally I'd rather have the 43.5mm PO Baselworld 2016 model with the grey dial, especially if they make one with a titanium caseset. Here's a picture of the Gen...
