  1. I am a refuge from RWI (whilst under renovations) and needed to post this somewhere! My 60 day wait is over. Look what the postman delivered today! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  2. What a beauty! It's amazing how much nicer the old 16613 is than the new one, which is kinda "blah".

  3. Hey guys since eta movements have been getting harder and harder to get ahold of, ive been talking with a friend who owns a jewlery/watch repair shop and he told me he has a chance to buy around 250 NOS(New Old Stock) ETA movements most of them being High Beat 28,800 but a few 2846 21,600 beat movements i believe 50-75 of those and 10-20 real low beat 18,000 movements not sure what the movement numbers are exactly for those yet, Those real low beat movements would be perfect for vintage rolex projects. What im wondering is if anyone would be intrested in buying movements on there own for projects or whatever you need them for. I would not need any money or payment upfront just wondering if you guys had any intrest in these movements. These are NOS movements meaining they have never been used in a watch but i would still say they would need a cleaning and adjustment to make them run in tip top. There are about 20-30 top grade finished movements like this, I also believe there are a hand full of Chronometer Movments. I will have to double check on those. The rest will be standard finish movements. These Pics are NOT of the actuall movements I will be getting they are just here to show what they will look like when it comes to finishing of the movement. I should have pics of the actuall movements after the holidays.

  9. If you remove the bezel carefully you'll find a friction washer installed between the bezel and the crystal retaining ring. I bend this washer slightly to adjust the turning resistance of the bezel. a watch is meant to be worn I take it you've never find this before so here's a video a watch is meant to be worn

  11. It's the dial. 16613 has one of the nicest blue dials ever. The new one is just generic blue. I've seen it in the flesh and it didn't give me any "Buy me"-feeling at all. The old 16613 is always just as amazing.

  12. Thank you Tor. The only thing I Iike about the new 116613 is the solid link bracelets and ceramic insert. I feel like the aluminum insert can easily be scratched. Sent from my SM-G930T using Tapatalk

  13. Like Obama, Rolex shortsightedly pivoted to Asia when it should stayed the course and the results were disastrous in both cases.

  15. You can be an alcoholic who only drinks once a week and you can be a non-alcoholic who drinks 3+ times a week. (IMO) It's ALL about the WHY. Do you drink because you're bored? Sad? Stressed? Gotta ask yourself those kinds of questions because merely basing your stability level on how often you drink doesn't cut it. Impairment goes much further than the night of and morning after. When using substances of any kind on a regular basis your perception of reality will be altered most of that time in between too, until you give yourself a long period of sobriety, then you get your moment of clarity, which is more like a life of clarity if you seize it. Either way drinking is not an intelligent thing for a human being to do. I feel society has come to a point where drinking is simply regarded as "normal". It's not... and it's definitely NOT okay for a lot of people out there. My advice? You write down your pros and cons of drinking, if you have ONE con... ditch the [censored]. Sobriety isn't all that boring. Never have to worry about getting DUI, rides, sick, hungover, late to work, beat up, that awful taste in your mouth when you wake up. It can be an enlightening experience, you get to ask yourself "When I was a kid, what did I do with all my time? What kept me so busy and intrigued?" Then you get to go find those things and apply them, fill your life up with meaningful activities and things you can see clearly and hold on to. 5+ years sober for me. Watches/reps Hobby was one of my life fillers! Never going back. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  16. TB, I am nowhere near the smartest guy in the room, but I've learned a few things. One is, if you're asking questions like that, chances are you have a reasonable concern. If there's a concern, then something deep in your mind is trying to get your attention. It's putting two and two together and coming up with an answer it doesn't much like. That's a good thing. Your subconscious is sending you a signal that it's worried. My advice... pay attention to it. I have some friends here that are in recovery and swear by the AA program. Go find a meeting and give them a chance. If you really do have a problem, they'll do anything to help you. If you don't have a problem you'll make some amazing friends and still be welcome to attend. Steel sharpens steel. Find some steel to stand with you.

  17. There's no magic, unfortunately. Keep searching the 'bay for any of the appropriate ones: 7205 (rivet), 7835 (folded), or 78350 (solid). Get a sniping service to hide your interest. There are a few sellers in Singapore and the UK whom I've had good luck with. I've won nice examples of each for $275-350. Anything under $400 is a solid deal. End links are a tough subject, even on gen watches (generally don't fit well from the factory) so I don't get too hung up on those. In fact, I buy gen ones for a deal when I find them, but also buy aftermarket ones and mangle them to suit my purposes as necessary. On this 7205, the 57 ends have the perfect "funky fit" for the era. One other area where I've done well on my 20mm bracelets is buying pieces and assembling them. I have a few clasps, and have bought links separately. Like the end links, a worn gen bracelet gives the right patina and glow to a rep that might otherwise look too sharp and shiny. Plus, as a guy who wears gen a fair amount of the time, the aftermarket just can't replicate crowns, coronets, or bracelets that well.

  18. Another awesome build. You must have an unbelievable gen parts selection to keep doing these high end builds. I agree dbane's case work is exceptional. Best I have ever seen. I like his case work better than my gens. With those two guys working on a watch you know it's going to be awesome. Congrats man this is a beauty [emoji106]
