I now perfected my technique to thin cases, and that allows me to realize more accurate PCG cases using the regular cartel case!!!!! See: this transformation consisting of shaving the mid-case upper part allows the crown to appear centered. Exit the low crown issue !!!! I recessed the crown tube seat for the crown to be under the bezel, as it should. This also leaves more metal to shape the CG. I could make good Square Crown Guards this way. Two are on the way, we will see the outcome, but I'm pretty confident. Enjoy the pics !!!3 points

Do you remember these dials? Those were fitted to the first cartel Daytona reps, sold in the years 2007/2008. They featured large cases with 20mm end links bracelets. Well, those dials were pretty nice: nicer than any other version they did after as a matter of fact !!!! The dial was shaved smaller, stripped and revarnished. New index were installed, a genuine coronet, a correct relume. Swiss made subdial hands, a new generation cartel case with assymetrical pushers totally reshaped, an athaya crown, gen T21 crystal, Vietnam Bezel, long tips spring bars and genuine bracelet. It's now looking more than half decent !!!2 points

the crown will NOT fit the tube until AFTER the tube is installed into the midcase.. the internal "splines" need to be removed with a proper broach/cylindrical file. once the splines are properly removed, the crown will seat properly2 points

Guys I was looking through the section and it seems we need to start a Rolex wristies thread! Let me kick it off: I tread softly along the fine line separating raving insanity and lucid moments of ingenuity. The issue is I've no idea which is which mostly.1 point

I'm always excited by new challenges and this case transformation was one. This case started as a regular Cartel 6263. The dial is from MQ and had a phony narrow coronet printed on a it... Erasing the coronet made the dial look more like a 30's 40's dial, and making a "bariletto" style early oyster case became a very tempting option. So here it is ! The minute, hour and main chrono hands are Cartel, but the blue steel hands are Swiss made new old stock for a V72. The caseback is from a large cartel 7750 daytona rep. I trimmed it shorter and shaped it to remind of the domed caseback featured on the 40's Rolex chronos. The crystal is a domed Verlux T21. It is a very pleasant watch to wear !!! Very classy, not a model one would expect to be a rep at all.1 point

Hi Everybody and happy new year! Hope it is OK that I do a little advertisement for my upcoming sales, but if not Mod's please let me know This is not one of those New Year, new me kind of things but rather a recognition of me not being able to give enough wrist time to my 35+ watch collection. My loss is your gain and I will be listing several watches for sale on here as I'd rather some fellow RWG-members get to enjoy the watches rather than they're just sitting in one of my watch boxes. There are some quite serious pieces in between collected over the last few years so you definitely have something to look forward to. (Teaser Picture attached) Unfortunately for our friends in EU/Australia/Asia etc. it will be CONUS only and for now RWG exclusive although I'm also a long time member on RG. Kind regards, Big_Dane1 point

For those who want some OEM screws for our reps i just found a seller on EBAY who provides these OEM parts at fair prices...I already received some "pusch sangle bars", gen tubes and a 22mm screw for tang from this guy and it fits very well to the rep parts ! The link to the seller: http://www.ebay.fr/sch/universal007exports/m.html?item=272488651626&hash=item3f7196db6a%3Ag%3AnnoAAOSwux5YVNIv&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l25621 point

USD is the universal currency of trade. It is not unusual for chinese dealers to list their wares in RMB, as the watches are produced in China, and with the world being what it is today, we cannot ignore the growing importance of the Chinese currency. However, where this forum and the hobby is concerned, USD should be the way to go IMO, to prevent clutter.1 point

Yes a bit aggravating but 700 CNY a 100 bucks U.S. so pretty easy to do in my head. I hate to be a pompous American but the USD is the world's reserve currency best we all price in dollars.1 point

Come on guys, let's all be real here. Enough of the kumbaya. The seller is a scammer, plain and simple. The watch that he was selling was not a rep, he used Gen pics and offered an amazing deal so people wouldn't think twice. The whole oh I didn't fill out the address? I think only morons would believe that. I have never seen some post service employee fill out paperwork for the customer bcz it's high liability and increases the chance of mistakes. Second, why wouldn't the sender double or triple check the address on such an expensive piece especially after all the criticism and scrutiny he got during the sale, knowing that he is being judged by the handling of this sale! I hate trump but sometimes we do get too caught up in political correctness instead of calling out [censored] as is. Sent from my SM-G930T using Tapatalk1 point

If you go back a page, you'll see that paristoto built a watch using the V730 which is simply a late model v72c. Now the v72 had an 18000 beat as did the 722. After that the 726, 727 and 730s had a 21600 beat- so the later models had the higher beat.1 point

Agree, thats why I make my own stems for the SA3135 movements, the originals are too fragile for regular use.1 point

Taking one apart recently, I would advise you and others to stay away. The reliability is very questionable. It is very probable for the movement not to last long, given the way it's built.
