  1. The bezels will fit both the 18239 and 118239. However, the new style bezel is 2.46mm tall. The old 18239 bezel is 2,23mm tall, provided it has not been polished. The inside diameter is the same 30.45 mm, unless of course it is stretched. The new style 118239 bezel has a step in it, the old one does not. The new one with the step requires a step gasket. It is wider at the bottom than at the top. I do know some dealers that use a reg crystal gasket and have not had any leaking problems using the new style bezel. When you sit an 18239 bezel next to a 118239 bezel, the difference is quite noticeable. The old 18239 bezel is made for a sapphire crystal.

  3. Finished my GMT II project using the new CHS case,Gen dial, gen hands, Gen Crystal, Gen Bezel assem and insert, Gen crown and tube, gen datewheel and a yuki/3135/3186 hybrid with a number of gen parts to make it function exactly like the gen 3186, even has the gen 3186 bridge installed for accuracy ? The movement work was done by the master himself Misiekped and amazing work indeed as per usual !! Thanks !! It was a fun watch to build but a pit of a pain in the ass to mount the movement in the case correctly and in the end used a Panerai bezel gasket to use as a thin spacer to keep the movement in place and it worked perfectly !! And looks great ! Anyways here are some shots of the finished product.

  4. Hey fellas, i became a little obsessed with this Rolex thing lately as I used to be a die hard Panerai guy, but I have been bitten by the Rolie bug in a bad way lol these are the first 5 I have built and I have a 6th in the stable, a 5514 HH case with a comex reprinted gen dial and a 1520 gen movement beating inside.. just waiting for the right lume job so I can assemble it. I need someone who can do puffy vintage lume to finish it ? It hasn't been easy to find and get done quickly. Anyways here they are, the Space Dweller is a JMB case with correct engravings for the 1963 space dweller, whoopy space dweller dial, rep riveted bracelet, old ETA low beat 24€& lol can't remember the model. But it runs strong. 116610LN, 116610LV both all gen aside from the mid case, bracelets and the insert on the LV is a V7 insert. 116710 all gen aside from case and the Yuki hybrid 3135/3186 movement. 16622 (always wanted one) this one is also all gen aside from Sean mid case and bracelet. Quite happy with them.. but now looking at some vintage builds and well the 5514 that seems to have been lingering for ever

  6. Glad to be back, I was getting withdrawal symptoms, what was the problem guys? Not hacked I hope? I did email AJ, and he assured me you guys were on there case as I was unable to access the forums for a couple of days. Now we are back up and running, I did get a warning that the site is insecure, I use 1password to manage all my passwords, and it was this that issued me with the warning, advising me not to sign into this site?

  7. Anyway, I have decided to make it even more real and wear a solid link bracelet with the Tudor 7032. That is what most gen owners do anyway as they are afraid to damage the links by removing one and preserve the old precious bracelet. :-)

  11. Nonne? Of all the acclaimed watchmakers? I really would like to fix this as it bugs me big time. But I do not want to damage the hand in any way given how good the aged lume matches the indizes.

  18. A 21 year old Seiko. This was once my pride and joy. It cost £250 back in 1996! It still keeps great time and has never had a fault - as is generally expected of both Quartz and Seiko.

  22. Got to agree brother. The Navy themes and the blue themes are the ones that catch my attention. A franken is a big financial commitment though.

  37. Interesting thread and many very valid points surely! I agree with the statements about the reasons behind buying reps are the determining factors if people are 'fake' (don't like that term too much in general, what is a 'fake' person anyway'?) the posers on instagram with canal street fakes taking selfies in front of Bentleys they don't own would probably fall under that category, I don't think they love watches like we do, they're only interested in showing off and many cannot even afford I nice rep let alone a gen. Personally, I buy reps because I want to try many different designs and models which would be much more difficult with gens only. I love design and my watch passion is largely esthetics driven and then love for automatic movements. Also, and don't laugh now please my personality doesn't allow me to settle with one of anything, goes with cars, watches you name it (only exception are wives ) I own several gens already and many highend Reps and frankens and for the value of those rep watches I could probably add a few more nice gens to my collection. To me it just wouldn't be as fun and my collection couldn't be this big.

  38. Interesting topic and the fake watches for fake people is a bit too stereotypical... i have a mix of real and replica watches. The reps are because I appreciate the design and a mix of: not wanting to spend tens of thousands on a collection, but also not wanting to worry about the real watch in certain situations. A great example I have both gen and replica omega sea master and planet ocean watches. Near identical (though you can certainly tell the quality difference if you look closely - winding quality, fonts, pearl etc). I wear the real 50% of the time and the rep 50% of the time. The rep if I am playing sport, in foreign countries /places I don't know and where I could get unwanted attention. Scraping / scratching a rep is not the end of the world, or getting mugged for a rep would be scary but not a financial loss. Typically when travelling I bang my watch... Rather bang the rep. I also have just a rep of some watches and just a gen of others. Why? Cost, design, how I want to use and wear it. I see some as transient watches, others as keepers and investments.... As with some here, I have bought a rep to try out and see how it feels and looks - I bought a rep Breitling, with the intent of buying a real one later, but it was too showey and didn't look right on my wrist... If I had bought a real one from day one I would have been [censored].

  39. Here some pics about a Handmade Crown . First i do with Silikon from a gen Crown a Form. I fill it with resin/wax.i put it in Special Plast Than i cast the Form with Steel. After this i work in it an pollished the Crown. The Size is super but i think it is a Little to shiny!!! But how put it in the case???!!! Easy.....the Rep Crown with shaft has a Bad Form so i will Drill it till i can fix it with my Rep Duplikate cap!!!! The case has a big reshape with my gen sub as sample...then i Drill the lugs... Emjoy my picture.... Here the asamble of the Crown. First i Drill down the Rep Crown and i saw that the Crown was put together like my idea!!!! Than fitting the cap and the Crown ....tada!!!! Viola ;-) Gen and Replika!!!! I know that my work is not 120% perfekt but i like to Experiment with Those Things!!!! I put a Special Metal glue in the cap to fix it. The picture you see is a gen with my Rep ,the Crystal of the Rep is very milky....i want to change it in plexi and Build a 1680 .... I still search for a dial but only shipping in eu!!!!! Thanks Send from comandantes
