  3. We wish to formally welcome RWI moderators @Yllekp, @Raddave, @xj4sonx Please help us welcome these guys, who are outstanding gentlemen and moderators from next door, and who are congregated here while RWI is in the process of coming up and being better than ever. To help differentiate them from the REAL newbies, we have opted to affix assign their member title as "RWI moderators", so that you do not accidentally write them off as newbies, and so that the ordinate amount of respect and recognition can be given to these fine gentlemen when they are here, post counts and join-dates nonwithstanding. Just a warning, all of them bite, and any illusion of coziness during encounters with the above is temporary and apt to fade the moment you start asking them who has the best sub. Now y'all have been warned, run along and play nice. Thank you @Nanuq for the hospitality, and making me do the dirty work once again. I will much rather be having that rib-eye you just showed me Big B. @Mike on a bike, @Sogeha, @kernow

  7. Well to reaffirm what was being said by skullface aka Yllekp, For 15400, get the v2J. Essentially it’s the JF v2 thinned down. I have thinned down a v2 to 9.5mm, same as the v2J it can be done, no biggie if you’re careful. For the 126600, get the ARF aka the bark of the dog. Lol. And have a happy 2018! 10. I wouldn't want to be in your spot, picking which of the two sounds better / more appropriate. Is m2m back up too? AND is THIS the exile forum?

  15. These are my current gens, will be looking to get a rep AP 15400 and a rep 126600 2017 seadweller. Thank god I found this forum before I ordered and found about about TD’s! P.S.: I change the strap on the navi from time to time, I know it’s not Breitling. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  16. That must be your son's wrist By-Tor we know you have arms like Popeye! I shudder to think of the number of early Daytonas I've built and sold on. They're just so fricken handsome so you build one and wear it and then mod it, then mod it some more, then build another, then you just have to get rid of one of them... no sense having duplicates. Then build one a little different, then you miss the first one you just sold, so you sell a couple to fund the next one. Good Lord I need to just send them to Legend or By-Tor so they can stop me getting rid of them.

  22. I will tell @xj4sonx you said he had a friendly face lol. Great to see the faithful here. It is like an episode of Battlestar Gallictica to me. Our home world under attack and we find ourselves in far flung friendly places seeking refuge. I can keep going with the analogies but there has been whisky on board and I would just end up putting myself to sleep never mind everyone else.

  24. It is all gen except for the case and the movement is a Hybrid Yuki / Rolex The dial is a 16803 and the Xtal is a Rolex SubC crystal. I am not tempted to go that deep into Franken territory again lol. I will probably buy the gen the next time I get obsessed by a watch.

  25. With my gen next to my phone it is hard to spot differences except for the dial glare but that is maybe due to lighting. Great rep! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  28. My 16610, non-ceramic was: • Sean M series mid-case (reshaped lughorns for a nice fit with the gen SEL, chamfered and polished by Omega) • TC case-back • Sean bezel and crystal retainer ring (reworked by Domi for perfect pressure fit with insert/and gen parts) • Gen washer and click-spring for the bezel • Gen 93250 SEL bracelet (new in 2015 from AD, with invoice/receipts from the AD) • Gen LEC crystal w/o AR • Gen NOS LN bezel insert • Gen 703 tube • Gen 704 crown • Gen hands • Gen M series dial • Gen date disc • Watch was put together, adjusted and pressure-tested by Domi The Yuki 3135 (complete service by our illustrious Misiekped and franken'd with following: • Genuine Rolex 2 x setting wheels • Genuine Rolex 2 x reversing wheels • Genuine Rolex winding wheel • Genuine Rolex sliding pinion All in all that's a few thousand bucks right there.... If you want to get a great watch get this, don't get into the franken game until you have more experience - you'll spend too much.

  32. Indeed guys, you are all very welcome here. Our hobby is small enough, we don’t benefit by constantly sparing with each other. All the fora are different which is good for the hobby as a whole, many of us are members on more than one and most of us have a clear home forum. Regardless of that we are all part of the Brotherhood and family sticks together in adversity. Welcome guys, And if you are a Mod on RWI, post that you are in this thread, No need to keep your status hidden here.

  33. Thanks Nanuq!! The folded oyster is my favourite. It's so light and tartly and cheap feeling. It's perfect for a vintage watch!! Yup I did. A bonus complication of the GMT watch. 37. Heres another one- this time very heavily worked. more to do on lugs but main aspect on this is the crease between the lugs. I have wanted to do this for a few reshapes but the curved lug section always looked good so never got around to it After the heavy work on the previous dsn version i thought i would give this a go and see if there was enough material here- there is for anyone who is thinking of doing the same Here is the midcase part completed- custom bbb non-domed caseback to go on as well as lowered plexi and more work to lugs etc. Crease between the lugs is a lot of work but certainly adds to appearance of the case (although not that visible with strap mounted!!!) In addition here all flat surfaces have been slightly curved along with lugs lowered and caseback area softened etc. When i get caseback on etc. i will post overall shots of this

  38. progress update- more weight loss! Case slimmed down by approx 0.2mm to 5.8mm, plexk lowered and more work on sides. Lugs have been reworked also to get more tuttle shape. very tricky working on these lugs- i thought i had lost case at one point. There is very little material to work with and one slip up means the bin....definitely not for the faint hearted lol temporary slim display caseback mounted before i get athaya's slim bbb display caseback.
