  1. I think I’m pretty safe to say no-one has made a Genenstein from a ARF case before. Anyways, here you have it... ARF bracelet ARF midcase rest is gen In case anyone is wondering. It needs to be lathed on the inside since the 4130 has a bigger diameter that includes the movement holder area. Midcase neck for crystal gasket. Total work about 6hs. Also, he wants to inform that Phong can go poop himself since his cases are full with 0,2mm crown height erors putting pressure on stems etc. The thing is. If you have a good base to work with (lets assume all VN case modders and similar do). If it takes a full days salary (lets assume you want big shot prices) 600 USD for a midcase. Fine... ok... But charging that price for manual lathing and drilling, and its not 100%. You might as well buy a good base (eg chinese rep) and get a professional watch maker with the right tools. And then pay that premium sum, actually get something worth the cash. No this is NOT an advert, as he has enough work, but more a proof-of-concept!

  3. Hey T, the sales area is in a bit of a mess now and can be a pain to manage. We should just have a single section and not “advert” and “sales post” sections separately. Is there any way to clean it up and make it simple for members to post and crew to moderate? Thank you Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  4. Greetings. The pink beauty went for a whirlwind trip around this great city, photographer was my 6 year old son. Journey started on the tube of course: Then one of Londons more recent additions, The Shard: Next, something for Nikki6, 'the crash helmet': Then something you'll all recognise: Followed by its close neighbour: Then a shot of another famous replica The Golden Hind: Next up is another replica: Then across the river St. Paul's: Has anyone seen the bridge?... Where's that confounded bridge?... And on to Trafalgar Sq with St. Martin's in the Field, The Coliseum Theatre and the National Gallery as added extras: Then down the Mall to the home of Liz W: Next up, surely the coolest address on earth, No. 1 London: And finally a well deserved pint of English beer: So, were's next for our globetrotting beauty???

  5. IMHO you pretty much nailed it there Rick once again. There is one other that is prelevant although not to flattering to the hobby, our one watch wonders who stop in asking what's the best REP of this or that expecting guys w/ years of time put in to hold their hand to get a watch to show off as gen and then disappear.

  6. Guys, appreciate the context. As someone who would not have considered purchasing a REP for obvious reasons......here I am, late to the show! It would be very interesting to me to understand the profile of individuals who chose to collect these pieces. If I may, I believe from what I have read, several profiles have morphed over time. If I could summarize, please comment: Initially, due to less expensive REPs, there are those who love the idea of collecting many different watches for the pure enjoyment and would quickly acknowledge that they are wearing a REP. Current economic circumstances would never truly convince anyone that they were in a position to purchase a GEN. REP's at the current market valuation may no longer be in the cards and this individual (in mass) may be disappearing. Then there is the new breed of collector who probably has both GENs and REPs. Loves watches and can afford the less expensive GENs and supplements with higher end REPs. I would argue that a third group also exists which could and would spend a sizeable amount on a GEN(s), has a few high end GENs but also loves the idea of collecting, perhaps modding to make the REP unique in some form. This individual does not have issue with a $1-3K investment on a Franken watch because it is GEN sufficient and allows for multiple watches. This individual can very easily pull off wearing a REP and no one would ever question whether it was GEN or not. The question is has the market identified this higher end buyer and is pricing accordingly...i.e..the example of a REP at $1100 above? Just some thoughts from a noobie.....

  10. I think it's rather unanimous that the sales section definitely needs a shake up (and by shake up I mean essentially going back to the old system). I won't drone on about that as it's well covered above. I will add that I would definitely prefer the colour pallet to go back to how it was in the past. This very white look is okay but can be misery to read late at night, an alternate suggestion could be some type of night mode as many apps offer for nighttime reading.

  11. Keep the suggestions coming guys. At the moment it looks like the sales section needs an overhaul.

  12. For me the decline and drop-off appears to have started with the introduction of the re-designed sales section. As posted earlier, the older version was a much better user experience. Can we get it back?

  14. Toro I was under the impression that it was the dealers responsibility to update their sites. If you or any dealer is having a problem editing your area to update we are here to help but we are volunteers this is how you guys make a living hence it's the dealers responsibility to provide their customers w/ up to date access.

  16. Bring back the old, more intuitive, M2M sales section format. The new version hasn’t added beneficial functionality. It also requires a workaround of double posting images in the “Watches” thread as well as in the “Classifieds” to reach the Tapatalk audience. Bottom line, a more intuitive M2M sales section will reinvigorate the forum.

  17. Two quick suggestions: 1) Lifetime membership price. 2) I think the sales section is a bit awkward. Appears there are two posts for every sale, one "advert" and one "post". Additionally, the "New ads from our Classifieds section" can be deleted. Last post there was 2/10/17.

  22. I've had BMWs, Mercs, Porsche 928 S4 (still have it). But the thing is... I want a JAG. And this JAG. The problem is... they're still too expensive. But cars like this depreciate heavily. I think this is the best looking car on the market right now.
