Being a bit more than average interested in airplanes I have been using the Microsoft Flight Simulator for some years. Functions are pretty much same as on real airplanes. Since boys never grow up I took it a bit further and got myself a cockpit replica of a Boeing 737. Pretty cool to have a beer and a flight actually. Some friends who have been afraid of flying actually feel more confident after playing with it since they know more about how safe it really is Guess I need a Breitling now.

Yeap, tried to order the 5517 insert from her too. Let’s hope she gets them back in stock again soon. Until then Phong’s will have to do.

The only time I even notice the steel is when I use a band and head from two different manufacturers... sometimes one is "whiter" than the other because the alloy doesn't quite match. Other than that?? Metal shmetal. Wear it and enjoy it.

I have mixed feelings on this topic. Features like 904 stainless and 18k gold wrapped are priced with significant markups that IMO, are not worth it. On the Swiss eta issue, I did buy a DSSD Blue from Andrew with a stated eta movement and have been thrilled with the performance. I use this as a daily piece and NEVER have to adjust or manually wind it. Worked 100% right out of the box. I've yet to have an Asian movement work this well, without prior service being performed.

Hey BT. Good to see you're right side up. The nature of forums, people eventually move on but always wondered what happened to you since you were gone in the blink of an eye. Nice collection you've got there. A few noteworthy reps out there. Check out ARF stuff, notably the 43mm seadweller... And if you haven't heard- noob cloned the 4130 movement. I'd love to get one but $700 on a questionably made rep? Remember those old rules we all used to have... Only 5-10 in the box, never spend more than $300 on a rep, etc... How things have changed...

Thank you for the suggestion. I asked about a brown enamel Dial (Helena Rou) and her minimum order is 500!!!! Then I thought about it and it feels like there are a lot of people looking for nice dials at a good price. I don’t know the unit price but I asked. I don’t know if she’d be flexible to perhaps adjust her min to 200 but I wanted to start the dialogue and then offer excess dials at my cost to others.
