I built a 5513 - PCG with gilt dial, sold it to a member here, thought I saw it floating around in a pic-thread or FS a while back... it was quite a piece and had a gen movement, dial, hands, bezel, crown, etc. The only non-gen piece was the mid-case and Joe had taken care of the engravings on that, and I had sent it out to one of our best casemen for shaping. I'm sad I parted with it. I know ... I know 🙈

Dear Friends and Members, I've been diagnosed with heart-failure. I have a bad aortic valve, bicuspid with aortic regurgitation. This has caused my ejection fraction in my left ventricle to dip below 30% and the pounding I felt in my chest a week prior to Christmas was the right side of my heart going into overload trying to keep me upright. I've been taking it easy and an open-heart surgery to replace the bad valve with once sourced from what I imagine is a lovely little porcine is soon to be underway. I'm a 38 year old male, non-obese with normal cholesterol, blood-pressure, and in otherwise great health. This is apparently a genetic connective tissue disorder gone off the rails. If you feel something... say something, you fellows especially. Don't be stubborn or stoic - it can kill you. Wishing you all good health and a wonderful 2019. I'll be on here and there during my recovery. I'll keep the morphine (or whatever they give me) dazzled trolling to a dull roar 😉 Fondly, A

I recently purchased what the dealer described as a JH/OM Factory Omega SpeedMaster Chronograph with an Asia 7750 Valjoux Automatic Movement 28800bph with Decorated Rotor & Bridges/Plates like genuine Omega Calibre 9300. Great looking watch. But, after several weeks of wear, I found last night that the watch had stopped while I was wearing it. I took it off and immediately heard a noise from the rotor I had not heard before. Looking through the display caseback I could see the rotor looked like it was getting stuck on the decorated plate that sits overtop the movement. I could also see the balance wheel was stuck with what looked to be a small screw under it. Thankfully I have a little bit of watch repair knowledge. So, I removed the case back. Sure enough the decorated plate just under the rotor was completely loose. The rotor itself was the only thing holding it on. I removed the rotor and then the plate and found both of the dislodged plate screws underneath. One of which was stuck under the balance wheel. Luckily I was able to shake it loose. I put the plate back on and secured the screws and then reinstalled the rotor. I’m happy to report everything works as good as new. But clearly I’d gotten a Friday afternoon constructed watch. See pics below for the screws you’ll want to make sure are secure so this doesn’t happen to you.

I reduced the height of the rehaut slightly and re-finished the inner wall (sanded) to reduce reflections. You can't take too much off the inner as it will also expand the dial seat, if you do the dial will fall through. The the addition of a GS PA 462-66 crystal from Ofrei helped too. Some crystals, i.e. the T19 from Clark, have the effect of distorting the rehaut width. I would avoid them. The high-dome T19 crystal (CWPT19) from Michael Young would be another option, it actually reduces the width of the rehaut optically. However, they do tend to fracture easily around the base when fitted and they aren't cheap. Take a look at the fourth post in the link below: No it shouldn't, the rehaut should be 90° to the dial face. But with the a little effort it’s not so noticeable.
