I do not think either question can be answered objectively, since perspectives and priorities vary. So I will simply offer this anecdote - Two years ago, a friend and I were perusing a local jewelry store. Another customer glimpsed my DRSD franken and called me out on it. To make a long story short, the store's watchmaker "cracked" the watch open for us and, low & behold, there sat a nice, genuine Rolex 1575 beating away inside the case, right next to its HeV. In my case, since gen Rolex parts will always increase in value, why cash-out if you do not have to? Or, at least, that is my conclusion. Your mileage may vary.

Been awhile since I built anything new, but, historically, I think MQ has had the most accurate dials.

Since many of these guys are a looong way from where most of us live while using fake names etc, they can screw with us at their leisure if it is in their nature and we can not retaliate. Besides that, my guess is many of them do not even have what they advertise for sale and do not start hunting for the item until after they get the $$. Anyone can set up a website with a few pictures of cases, dials etc and sell from the site with zero stock. I knew a guy that 'knew a guy' that could find anything you wanted in replicas and he did not know anything about replicas. He just 'knew a guy'. I suspect many of the replica watches/parts vendors are like this. Otoh, a few are probably skilled 'detailers' or 'know a guy' who is and they buy $35 cases and turn them into $650 cases. In their spare time they look through a few dozen $20 dials to pick out two or three '$250' dials. Example... In 2005 or 2006 I asked 'a guy' to get some submariner dials for Eta movements. He wrote back in a few days and asked "How many? They are $10USD each." Probably $20 by now.

I can't say if a Yuki case is better than a Ruby case. My theory is that you just need to buy your parts and then have a watchmaker put your watch together. You're building a replica, so it's important not to obsess. You can check Phong and Jensen for a set of hands. Or look at what yuki has- http://www.yukiwatch.com/catalog/item/6960394/7159505.htm When you say reverse panda, I'm assuming you mean a black dial with white/silver subdials- the two that Ruby has look fine to me. MQ is probably more expensive and I've never been keen on buying directly from Vietnam, but I've never heard anything negative about MQ. I'm thinking that a 721 movement is still a 18K beat movement- I pretty sure the Rolex 722 was also 18K. The 726, 727 and 730 were the late Valjouxs at 21,6K. But finding a 726 is expensive these days. Here's a 6239 I put together a few years ago- DW case, Vintagewatchmaker.com (Jensen) dial and a V72 out of a Wittnauer

Does anyone remember our own brush with infamy? Remember....... "Jetmid"??? He was our very own rich kid with private jets and expensive watches and hubris out the wazzoo.... and we had a lot of fun at his expense.
