  1. I love classic cars. My big disappointment at the moment is the postponement of Le Mans Classic. I had tickets, travel and accommodation all booked. Thankfully most organisations agreed to a refund or re-booking for the following year at no extra charge. I say most because there was one glaring exception - Eurotunnel, who refuse to assist in any way. No you can't have a refund, no you can't change the dates. Yes you can f*** off and we'll keep your money. Thankyou very much. So much for the 'we're all in this together - we must pull together' philosophy. Anyway moan over... Here's a photo of the daily driver followed by the weekend fun:

  2. Late to the party. Congratulations! As a parent of two special needs children, distractions together with faith in yourself and those around you can be an astronomical strength! I have been a member of this forum for some 12-13 years and it has supported a.long life passion of mine which has been of the best distractions for my sanity! No pharmaceuticals or therapies could come close to the love and fraternity I have received here, in the enjoyment of an esoteric and classy hobby we all share!! I vaguely recall a story here some years ago, where a forum member wanted to sell all his timepieces to help fund medications for one of his children which also threw me into tears! I say we have all survived yesterday and today, let's get through to midnight before we worry about tomorrow. She will do well!!

  3. A four door, five seat car with the performance of a super car, without attracting unwanted attention. Where’s the fun in that? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  7. I think it’s GREAT seeing all the old names! Some real fond memories here. Now what we need is a real controversy to get the juices flowing again. Muwahahahahahaaaaaa

  8. Sadly, I hit a moose last November and caved in the front end. I spent a few months tracking down parts and finally have them in hand. Today is the start of tearing her down, hammering out panels and getting her back on the road. No you can’t just undo fasteners, with all the alloys there the bolts are corroded from galvanic action. So get out the grinder. No you can’t just strip paint off the replacement wings and bonnet, it’s acrylic based. What in the heck strips acrylic? Don’t use a sander and ruin that perfect metal finish under the paint! No you can’t just hammer the panels, you have to anneal them with an acetylene torch...but don’t melt them! Then hammer and work them awhile before annealing some more. It’s a process, and it makes you hate, or love, these old cars even more.

  10. Now there's a guy who does Hendrix justice.... and left-handed to boot! Now I gotta go look up Eric and see if he can do Third Stone From the Sun. I actually saw Hendrix live in 1969. (!) Now I'm dating myself.

  11. Still here... but damn. This place is almost dead. A real pity. Don’t know why. I spend most of my time lurking at RepGeek under a different name. Sold most of my reps and still do a a lot of watch restaurations and other watch work. Mainly gens. Father of 2 beautiful daughters (4&7) which grow up way too fast. Working for the ‘man’ still sucks and hoping I can make a living out of watches somehow in the future. A man can dream.... All the best Mark
