  4. Hey Gang, after I received the VSF 126160LN I took my time to compare to gen. This is my measurements compared to gen 126610 Rolex Submariner Date 126610 Gen Diameter: 40.5 mm Lug to lug: 47.6 mm Clasp: 18.83 mm Lug width: 26.7 mm Thickness: 12 mm SEL 21mm Last Link 16,5mm VSF Submariner Date 126610 Diameter: 40,6mm Lug to lug: 47.6 mm Clasp: 18.97 mm Lug width: 26.7 mm Thickness: 12,50 mm SEL 21mm Last Link 16,5mm On the Picture we see the difference to 116610. Gesendet von meinem Mi MIX 2S mit Tapatalk The crystal is something different to all Crystals we have before. It has an AR layer on the underside of the crystal. This is also on the gen and introduced the first time on the 2020 models. This one has a real Blackhole and the Halo Effect is present. Best Rep Crystal I've seen in ages.. Here can you see the nice Holo Effect The date on the VSF is spot on, every single Number is nicely clean printed and centered. No need to change to gen. The ceramic Inlay is deep black and the numbers are well made with a nice platinum coating. Pearl is also nice. The Dial is very well made, crisp Printing, the Indicies had a nice shape like gen, Lume is even applied. Also the Hands where clean machined on this. The bracelet is nicely finished, SEL fitting is perfect. No sharp edges, well made Clasp.

  6. Athaya has both a tube for gen 702 and a tube+crown that is aftermarket. You most likely have a 703-crown and the 703-0 tube. It has a similar look to the 702... But is thicker/wider/protrudes more. In my experience.. it’s most often the plexi/crystal retainer fitment that seems to be the problem when WR is needed.

  8. "I am looking for a set of straight end links in 19mm like yours.." These might be made to work but you would have to spread the last link apart. It would be easy to shorten the ends to 19mm. This one is 19mm but no way to know how wide the center links are. If they are too wide they can be trimmed but if too narrow...not gonna work. eBay item number: 172019171077 From guess who? WSO 990! More... 20mm oyster bracelet (tools852.com) CARLYWET 17 18 19 20mm 316L Stainless Steel Silver Brushed Watch Band Strap Old Style Oyster Bracelet Straight End Screw Links|Watchbands| - AliExpress Two things to watch out for: SEL type end links, there are a lot of them out there. Sheet metal end links that just fit over the last bracelet link and not in between them, Speidel 14/1500 for example. I used to have a few (iirc) but can not find them. As usual.

  11. The second one is a Blacklung dial with a custom handset ... Making that custom handset proved to be MUCH more difficult than I thought at first ... I designed the hands using Blacklung close-up pics, send that to my maker and waited for some weeks ... Just before New Years Eve the handsets arrived in my mail box and I was not that happy ... The hands were nicely cut but the finish was so so and none of the tubes really fitted to the movement So I decicde to rework everything : - remove the lume -nsqueeze the tubes on hours and minutes hands -nbroach the tube on the seconds hand - redo theblack varnish finish It took me hours but at the end I achieved ti get something I liked. So I just had to lume everything ... off-white lume with low-green glow ... Then I proceeded to the final mounting on a an ETA 2824-2 movement ... now it's just ready to ship ... BTW ... I have almost finished another Balcklung dial and handset, same design but made for a Seiko NH35 movement ... I just have to lume evrything so I'll post the result next week if everything goes well ...

  12. Dear Forum, happy new year! It took two lockdowns and a christmas holiday to finish this, but the watch is finally on my wrist and ticking away happily! I finished it a few hours before the new year so I could count down to midnight on the new watch which was very special. It took a while to get everything to fit... I had a friend in our workshop at work laser cut me a 150µm spacer which I put between the dial and the dial seat. It's thin enough not to be visible. I still need to grease the gaskets. It has three, one on the caseback and two on the screw down crown. I'm sure there must be many posts on how to waterproof a watch properly on this forum, can anybody point me towars one? I cant seem to get the search function to work for me (probably searching the worong keywords...). And then I'll take it to a Timpsons and get the waterproofness checked. I think they can do up 5ATM. It runs about 10-15 sec fast per day which I can live with. Things I still want to do are get a domed crystal for it. The one on there is flat and protrudes the bezel a bit which just doesn't look right to me. A single domed acrylic crystal would be period correct right? Don't know yet, I might also go with Sapphire. I'm hoping a domed crystal will also help a bit with the legibility... The flat glass does reflect a lot of light. I found a great seller on ebay uk who made me single layer vintage stype strap for it in a custom length. I think it looks great on the watch and is probably close to what such a what could have come with in the 50s (I like to think). If somebody wants to know the seller please PM me! And then I still want a nice bracelet for it. I am trying to get a riveted oyster style bracelet. I might go for the one that you can buy for the new Smith's watches and then hack the solid end links into place somehow! That's it for now. Thanks again for all the help I got here!

  13. Thank you for your kind words. It’s difficult to make something different than what we usually see (wristshots), I try sometimes to make something different like this for example
