  3. I haven't done a vintage build in quite some time due to "life happenings". But now I'm back at all the projects that were stalled and does it feel good! This build is a Tudor 94300 with exotic dial. I sourced a Yuki case, dial and hands set quite awhile ago. The crown guards on the case were incorrect, so I had to massage them a bit to get the proper profile. It has a bezel from a David Wong (DW - anyone remember him?) Tudor 7149 case. The correct period 7750 really finishes off the build. The crown and the used crystal are both gen. Thanks in advance for looking!!! And the wrist shot

  4. I read your post on the build. Very nice build Tribal! You just can't beat a nice vintage Tudor chronograph.

  7. I am interested in a 1016 dial that is for sale on fleebay. The asking price for this dial is $1000, or best offer. I am guessing this is not a gen dial, but one from Vietnam. What would be a fair price for it? To me the dial looks really nice for a Franken build with gen 1002 case and gen movement.

  10. With current pricing for gen 62xx series (plexi-crystaled) Daytonas beginning around the $60k mark and skyrocketing up from there (Newman/Exotic-dialed 62xx Daytonas generally trade well in excess of $100k, with sales sometimes tipping the scales at a quarter mil' for nice steel examples), I think sating your niggling sliver of desire will be a costly meal indeed. But, on a more positive note, I can assure you that the feel of a properly assembled franken (with all user-accessible components of genuine Rolex manufacture) will match its 100% factory-made analog in every way but the feel of your wallet. Of course, today, many frankens at this level have become unobtanium for all but the well-heeled collector.
