  1. Started this about two years ago when I had the luck to get a parts lot in an online auction. I always liked the vintage ploprof, but at a price range about 4000 - 7000 $ nothing for me. All parts are still easily available except the case. So why not build one myself... Based on various technical drawings and original parts I measured the important interior and had this made by a friend: To get the basic shape the case was cut out with water (with some abrasive and pressure added :-) ) Next was to drill some holes. getting closer Don´t ask how many hours it took me measuring, drilling, grinding etc... looks like a watch now final result still got problems with a loose minute hand, but so far I really like it :_)

  4. Does the date snap to the next date at midnight? Do an acid test on the gold parts. Or use a magnet on the gold parts the bracelet, avoid the watch with a magnet. As was stated the date font doesn't look right. The lettering on the dial doesn't look right ether. Does the watch have a serial number and model number between ether lugs? It could be a real Rolex that was repaired with aftermarket parts and a refinished dial. Some of the watch looks good and some look very bad. Good luck.

  5. Hmm. I’m not an expert on the ladies, but a few things give me pause. 1. The date font looks too bold and not the usual from the mens. 2. Crown on bracelet seems oversized like older reps. BUT it is crisp. The Tritium lume plots look right. Dial fonts look good, but I can’t see the A in superlative (sometimes a tell) Caseback sticker looks legit. (Worn) Hollow link bracelet looks ok. Only way to tell, ball up some duct tape or use a caseback ball opener, and unscrew/open it up and look at the movement.

  6. Mike, to purchase, simply peruse the dealer listings on the main page. But it sounds like you are unsure as to which Sub model you want. That being the case, you will save yourself alot of frustration &, perhaps, buyer remorse, by researching the model you actually want before hitting any buy buttons. I would recommend either spending some time on timezone.com or 1 of the various Rolex forums to narrow down your target Sub. Or, better still, visit a local Rolex dealer & spend some wrist time getting accustomed to the various models. You may find that 1 stands above all others. Or, you may even find yourself fast-forwarding to purchasing the real thing (as many here end up doing). Good luck & happy hunting.
