"Are you sure that are gen the dial that have the space between indices and rehaut?" There is no way to know for certain if some the dials with the space between the outer markers and edge of the case are genuine. With replica/refinished dials being so good now, I guess it will remain a mystery. I am not an expert of any sort, especially on dials but I can't help wondering about this 'major' differences in supposedly genuine vintage dials. I understand there are always 'minor' differences but the space between the outer markers and case edge seems like a 'major' difference. I guess part of the mystery is why the 'experts' ever mention it. The Vn dial on your watch above is very good and the space between the markers and case edge are because of the dial/movement being mounted to one side a tiny bit and I see this quite often on genuine and replica examples. Here is where I looked at the genuine 1655 dials: images of rolex explorer 1655 - Bing images The images change over time but there is usually one with space between the markers and case edge (all the way around the dial) claimed to be genuine. I looked at 50 or 60 tonight and did not see any with the space . Next month there might be one. "The most evident gap that I remember was visible on the old cartel 1655." I still have a couple from 2005 or so and they both came in cases marked '1680' with new (at the time) swiss ETA 2836 with non-adjustable Asian 24H mod. Here is a pic of one, still 'nos'... Flatten the CG tips, scuff it up a bit, and it might 'wow the troops' at the Waffle House...after 2am.

Told ya...but still work in progress. The actual Tudor hands (bottom scrn) in pic above are for the Val 7734, so had to mod "Daytona" 7750 hands and match lume. Hoping the tap 10 stem works on the clone 7750, cuz can't make tap 7 work even with adapter (width) with the 7020 tube and crown. Anyhoo Case, hands, ends, A7750 - Ebay Sweep Sec - Cas Ker (painted) Crown - Athaya Dial - Yuki "Tiger" bracelet from Raff Dl with 585 ends.

T A big thanks from me for keeping the place going. So much knowledge gained (and forgotten) here over the years. It was a nice distraction for me to get away from the rat race of life. I wish you all the best in your future endeavours.

Thanks for keeping the lights on! Out of curiosity is there a timeframe you have in mind? A week, a month, 6 months? -if no one comes forward, before lights out? Also, is there a physical server involved or is this running in the cloud (AWS?). Edit to add: if it looks like lights out, I am curious if there is a way to archive/memorialize some of the key pinned content? Plan B: RWG Archive project anyone???

Thank you for all you have done. RWG changed my life and gave me an out that I desperately needed. Much like you I had many curveballs thrown my way and I dove face first into the watch world. It was something I needed to take my mind away from all the rigors of reality. From chasing TC’s submariner to building my first explorer with Justin’s (JMB) amazing cases it has been a pleasure learning and reading everything I could find on your forum. God speed and keep your boots on.

Im so sorry for Bobs family first and foremost, and the forums enormous loss as well. Bob always talked about his family, and he had my deepest respect. Bob was an exceptional person, always kind and inclusive. He made me feel at home here. I enjoyed going back and forth with him about where was more dangerous to live, Alaska VS Florida. There was always something really funny to be said there, guaranteed to crack us up. I'm sure he is already harassing the bears in heaven, or vice versa. Seeing another one of the old school guard gone is truly heartbreaking and frankly, startling. Time waits for no man. I'm glad Bob kept track of his with a double red, he always raised the bar.

Good to hear from you Chief. Completely understand and wish you well in working "lifes challenges" out. Thanks for giving us a home for all these years!

Wow, just found this. As one of the original members and Admins here, I can truly say Bob was one of a kind. A great person who loved watches. Amazing how fast time flies, but here we are. Sorry for your loss...

Just got the email. Also, sad to hear about Nanuq(Bob) passing away. I've been off here for years watching my son grow. It's crazy to think that when I joined the rwg community back in 04, my son was an infant, and now he's graduating high school in 2 weeks. For all the younger members who may be reading this. Remember, enjoy life because it flies by quick. It was a pleasure skyping with you many, years back T. Same With Ken. Take care and enjoy it while you're here.
