I think it looks pretty good. I I lost a v1 in the mail, so this is essentially a $500 rep for me. Thanks!
-
btw noticed on PT's video - the upper "loop" on the 8 on the dial has a little misprint into the loop. check your QC pics carefully!
-
the only differnece i notice - PT's movement has linear engravings on the rotor (more accurate) while josh's has perlage. for $70 cheaper with the same upgraded dial/hands... worth it.
-
it blows my mind that they can make a 3717 with chrono and almost perfect aesthetics... but cant do the mark xvi without multiple tries. how did they mess up that 7 marker in the first place? or too short hands, or fat ass crowns? this is essentially V3... and still no bracelet. All they have to do is change the end links on the 3717 bracelet! if they got that on, it'd be worth the money
-
i heard that josh will have it when it's more in stock for cheaper - i'm deciding between a rep vs genenstein
-
gorgeous triplet. that xvi on bracelet is my grail! my offer stands

I really like the looks of the Mark XVI but want it in a Swiss movement and nice bracelet, which is offered by timefactors for about $540 on a nice bracelet, genuine ETA 2824. hxxp://www.timefactors.com/speedbird.htm review: hxxp://www.watcharama.com/speedbird3.htm Do they sell hands with same post diameters to fit a 2824 that are the same shape as those on the mark xvi? I don't like the blunt hour hand that much. How bout a similar dial? I'm talking about aftermarket ebay people or something along those lines.

Interesting PO on TZ below for $2150 -- on strap. he "misplaced" his box and papers. Honestly, with franken dial/hands/AR coating, I can't even tell real POs anymore. What do you guys think? hxxp://forums.timezone.com/index.php?t=msg&goto=6198180&rid=68786#msg_6198180 (change xx to tt)

it'd be a scary rep with a solid case back. so simple and elegant -
Watch lost in mail to trusted dealer?
whitestripes replied to whitestripes's topic in General Discussion
I wish that fat ass postal worker would have told me why it was too much tape. Had I known it was a legitimate reason I would've re wrapped it. No taking on China post. My tracking number begins with LC. At around $300 this is not cheap... This is a 32" TV. I wonder if he'll sell me a replacement for cheap. Doubt it. Don't know what other recourse I have. I'm obviously very unhappy and will go to great trouble to recoup this loss. -
Watch lost in mail to trusted dealer?

overseas shipping, esp to places without mail systems as good as the US (which is most non-western countries), is a big gamble without shelling out big bucks for EMS. Once this gets settled (if it ever does)... I might be out of the rep game from trusted sellers. Might just deal with used pieces from members in CONUS. Can I complain to my credit card company and do a charge back? -
Watch lost in mail to trusted dealer?
whitestripes replied to whitestripes's topic in General Discussion
That might be the case, a few years ago I sent a noobmariner back to this same dealer... didnt hear any thing, and a few months later I saw that there was a package for me at the PO and bam - there it was. That was part of the reason I chose to go back to this same dealer this time. The uncertainty is killing me though, and my lack of recourse makes me sad. -

I asked for registered - and she said i had "too much tape." I don't know wtf that means, but I assume it was some bull s*** (they are super lazy and fat). So the only options i was given were EMS for $42 and whatever I chose for like $10. The horror stories for 3-5 months are just crazy. I'm thinking of doing a CC chargeback... I have nothing (more) to lose. -

hate the rep game sometimes. have never lost anything in the mail in my life. -
Hey all, Been a while since I've posted. I sent a watch back to a dealer for some issues about 2.5 months ago (sent it only with a customs number - which lets me track it to the point it left the USA, but not after, because getting tracking would cost $42). He says he hasn't received it (I check in about once a week with him). Am I [censored] out of luck, what can I do? It was a minor fix. I should've forked over the $42... better than losing out on $300. Has anyone been in this situation? What have they done for you? Thanks for your help.

Thanks, I didn't find them on josh/andrew's site (the only dealers i've had experience with)

Hey all, I'm interested in getting a vintage-style tudor sub, with a domed acrylic crystal being the most important. I don't need it to be highly accurate, but I just want that vintage rolex case / crystal / style without it being, well, a Rolex. Snowflake, tudor rose, benz hands with little triangles at 6, 9, all are fine, whichever is better without modding. Tall crystal and date would be ideal. Thanks for your help!

emailed josh- so the higher end version has a slightly better finish on lugs (no pics though to show the difference), and genuine croc strap. apparently the cheaper version has the anti mag cover now, too.
-
$60 for an antimag cover is pretty steep. I doubt it's gen croc either way

Do you think this is a product of it being one of the first 2892 clones out there?

Replica seamaster swop for a gen pre-moonwatch
whitestripes replied to aeromatic's topic in The Omega Area
oh my god that is a great deal. That is a pre-professional speedy even before they moved to the white hands. If you don't feel like spending the hundreds and waiting months to fix it up, I'll buy it from you for a good price with significant profit for you -
Who has this for cheapest? Andrew and Josh have it for $228 + $30 shipping. I hate how shipping costs more than 10% of the price.
-
Great review and finally a worthy rep of the mark xvi! any news on a possible bracelet for it?
-
Don't know if they're gen or not, but $129 does seem suspiciously low for a gen case. Hope someone can use these! These cases are for ref: 16000, 68000, 69000, 6740 replace xx with tt: hxxp://forums.timezone.com/index.php?t=tree&goto=4981499&rid=0

If there is one thing I hope they fix, it's the damn happy feet on the Omega logo. It RUINS so many excellent reps. (The speedmaster date 7750 comes to mind)
