  1. You can get a second hand Speedmaster Pro. I HIGHLY recommend it.
  2. Not to get anyone's hopes up, but I asked a dealer over at RWI this: "Hi [Dealer's name removed, don't know the guidelines about this], I forgot to ask--has this IWC Mark XVI been repped yet (or will it ever be repped?) http://img250.imageshack.us/img250/3699/iwcv2415025mr.jpg It is in high demand over at RWG, but there are no reps of it. First dealer to get it will have good business with it. Thanks, [My name]" The response: "hello friend this watch not come out yet i think it will be come very quick regard [Dealer name]" There is no doubt in my mind that I will buy this if/when it ever comes out. It's a keeper, and will probably become a mainstay of my collection. I'd get it double AR'd, serviced, and lumed!
  3. I read in someone's post in The Zigmeister's review of the 7750 sec's at 12 that the factories actually read this forum. I sure hope so! If so, another shout out for the IWC Mark XVI!
  4. I've gone through 5. I currently don't own any reps, but have two on the way! I think the beauty of WIS-ness is that it's so easy to liquidate a watch, so you can have it in your hands for a while to see if it's a keeper. Of course, dealing with reps makes the financial burden an order of magnitude less . Back when I was crazy about guitars (still love to play, but not as obsessed or afflicted with GAS--Guitar Acquisition Syndrome (not making that up)), I would think long and hard before I bought one, because they are super expensive to ship and might break/suffer humidity changes in transit. Having such ship-able things definitely makes it easier to go through them.
  5. Regarding the rubber straps: I gotta have one! It's one of the few OEM rubber straps that actually looks good, IMO. Can someone definitively point out the best rubber strap and where to get it from? I'm confused about watch eden, etc. Is it a 20mm strap? Does it come with that little nub? I don't have a Dremel so that's a deal breaker. Do the non-nub straps stay on correctly? I don't know if this was properly addressed but I'm sure many are interested in the answer.
  6. If it werent for the incorrect bezel teeth, I'd say it's a better rep then the 4th gen 42mm PO. The 4th gen (I think it's still being sold for $318 by the cartel) had a very ugly looking logo on the crown, and a gap between the endlink and first link of the bracelet, which was enough to turn me off. Narikaa's has a correct looking crown and good bracelet fit (no gap). Yes, it's an Asian movement, but it's only $100. I have one coming. I would hardly say that it only looks like a Planet Ocean if you've never seen a genuine. Refer to the thread covering it.
  7. How long does the "royal mail" take to send a package to the US? I live in California, never had a package shipped from the UK.
  8. Robbie, these are BEAUTIFUL SHOTS!!! The middle one especially blows my mind. Some day I think I will get a Date Just. (Day Dates are just too expensive... Besides, I usually know the day of the week )
  9. Can I see some pics of the Grand Classique rep? Trusty's got the classique, but not "grand" classique... The way the head connects to the bracelet is too weird for me. I like regular lugs. On a non-rep note, check out this Nomos-like watch from Chinese cheap watch maker Herc: It's cheap, but it looks so good! Forgot to mention it's out of stock. I emailed their service rep, they said they reordered. It's only like $60. Cheap.
  10. Man, that hits all the points I desire, but 42mm in a white dial with such a thin bezel is a bit too big. My ideal watch size (sporty or otherwise) is ~40mm (don't have monster wrists). I have an Omega Speedmaster Date coming in, as well as the 42mm Asian Narikaa PO. But a dress watch I'd like <39mm. Man, I still love the way it looks, though! (might still get it ) Do you have any pics of the Glashutte Senator against other watches? I want to get an idea for how it wears on the wrist.
  11. How much did you get that for? I love the vintage Omegas.
  12. Hi guys, We all know about the huge supply of 7750 based reps (thank god for the spacing) and the nice dive watches out there, but how many true dress watches are repped? I'm trying to round out my collection and need a dress watch. In my book, a dress watch is: On a leather strap (but can also come with bracelet) 35-39mm diameter White dial (or close, like cream) No complications, but a date would be ok Center seconds or subdial at 6 (love the look) Very thin (important!)--like <12mm You guys know what I mean--a minimalist, nice looking dress watch that can be worn under a suit. Perhaps something a banker would wear? I like the Omega Aqua Terra, but it's on the border between a sports watch/dress watch. I'd like something that unequivocally says "Dress Watch." Any suggestions?
  13. My god that is gorgeous. Beautiful fit on the endlink/first link!!!
  14. How did you guys pay? I emailed him with no response.
  15. Thank you for the quick replies. I've been hoping to have a decent out of the box vintage Rollie rep (I love raised acrylic crystals and the more tool-ish look of 'em... and LUGHOLES!!!) and being pretty young I think an old, vintage-ized Rolex (inherited it from my uncle) is more believable than a new 16610 on my wrist.
  16. Despite the inaccuracies, I'd love one of these and will order one soon . No end link gap? Check. Nice crown? Check. Nice!
  17. Saw this one up for sale, I like how it\'s already got drilled lugs and a large plastic crystal. I don\'t know how to judge how good it is, but I like it.
  18. Does it have the gap between the endlink and first link?
  19. One important thing is I don't think Asian movement 42mm POs are still available.
  20. I agree with the others-- I don't think a rep is a good groomsman gift. Getting married at 19-20? I'm a bit older but marriage has still not entered my mind!
  21. Beautiful watch! If you don't mind me asking, how much is a Patek Complication watch?
