  1. wow! that is a great price, but is by far the exception rather than the norm. I'll keep my eyes open
  2. Where are you looking? Used gens go for ~$1600 and up, unless it's a beat up cal 861... even then prices are going up
  3. I wonder how long it'll be til V2 or a super rep of this comes out... It's on WM9's list and I think that'll be the only hope (2011/2012 probably)
  4. I would probably have bought it for that price, which is rather good (for the buyer) for the age with box/papers. should've sent me a pm!
  5. How much would you be selling it for?
  6. I don't see why they have so much trouble with it. No complications. No crazy case shape. Just a matte black dial, white markers, and white hands. They can pull of Breitlings but the can't make this?
  7. There's something off about the entire package. It's not as elegant, if you will, as the gen. Hand shape is off, case shape, etc. WM9 will make a killing on this rep.
  8. Man oh man the rep manufacturers have been busy!
  9. Lani, Please don't take my last post as any form of accusation. I have nothing but respect for the work you've put into this forum and I absolutely love your pictures of your large collection. I trust your raffle and was simply suggesting an alternative. I apologize for any bad feelings I may have engendered, and I am looking forward to the raffle. Whitestripes
  10. I guess I'm satisfied as long as everyone is okay with the software randomly picking. I think RG or RWI had a raffle a few months ago for a Pro and they did it via a state lottery, where the first two numbers of the daily lotto pick were used to choose the winner. E.g. lotto numbers of 42,23,53,07. So #42 would be the winner. If no #42 person (as in our case), then #22, then #23, etc. With public results, there's no tomfoolery. I don't want to be nitpicky but this is a fairly large raffle.
  11. Ticket purchased! Fingers crossed on getting my grail! I forgot to ask--what impartial way will the winner be selected? Some state lotto or something?
  12. You could pre-order a BK/WM9 Sea-Dweller. It's likely to be the best out-of-the-box SD ever.
  13. My Omega Speedmaster Date 3210.50 had the anti-counterfeit engraving. It looked good, but a little deeper than the gen.
  14. I've looked at this with interest. They offer a one year warranty, so perhaps there's some QC or at least some oil where it's needed in the movement, I should think!
  15. Looks great! About how much is coating an entire watch like that?
  16. After looking at the POrikaa, I forgot how much more accurate the 4th gen 42mm PO was! The bezel is quite nice. I wish the bracelet were better, and is the logo on the crown correct? It's NICE!
  17. A rep of a Grand Seiko would be nice, but I doubt they'd have any of the things that make GS special... it's not in the branding so much as the impeccably finished hands and hour indices and beeaaauuutiful, extremely accurate movements. It also wouldn't impress a non WIS
  18. Congrats on the gens! I'm saving up for the 2220.80 Coax SMP and a 3570.50 Speedy Pro... might be a few years though
  19. There is C1 and C3 lume. From my understanding, C1 is very white in the daylight, but doesn't glow as well as C3, which is slightly greenish in the light. Both are superluminova.
  20. I would LOVE one of these... is this from the batch that some gen place sold off for cheap because they were found to be not-100%-genuine? Sigh, I kick myself for not being here for that. I love the simple dial, Rolex looks, and beauuuuuutiful crystal!
  21. It's on WM9's list. It's not worth it to try out these fishy sellers when one of the best dealers/modders has it on the horizon. Probably won't happen til mid 2010 though.
  22. That's an interesting point you brought up. I don't think I'm a rep-snob, having owned exactly the same watch that I spotted on my friend's wrist. If I had been a snob, I probably would have pointed it out, but I certainly didn't. I just found it incredibly interesting (and frankly, a bit exciting as it was my first confirmed rep in the wild).
  23. The Omega with the lines through the middle instead of the bottom is simply beautiful! Now if they'd fix the clown feet....
