  1. I had a Gen LE Carbon BR01-94, bought it unseen as my AD had 10 guys in line behind me ready to buy it and I was kind of disappointed when I got it. The hands and numbers were more of a satin glossy finish and not so much like the flat seen in pictures. The watch was also very hard to read at time. I keep it for about 2 months before trading it in for the new BR01 Pro-Titanium.
  2. My $0.02, if the watch lugs hang over your wrist to where the bracelet drops say 90 degrees or less from the case back, the piece is too big for you. A bracelet should wrap around your wrist, not hang from the lugs just to have the clasp touch the underside of the wrist to hold the watch on. The watch should looked balanced on your wrist. Even a 42mm watch can look big if it is fitted to someone with a proprotionatly sized wrist. If you don
  3. Nice piece! I forget the "name" of the band Breilting used back in the 70's. I know the Bullet was the band in the 80's. I love how the new Chrono-Matics have done such a nice job capturing the 70's era watches they built! Wear it well!
  4. Baume & Mercier today......Starting to lose favor of this one.
  5. Any watch maker should be able to adjust this. There is nothing you can do unless you know your way around watch mechanics.
  6. Absolutly not. When you by a Gen. you fill out all kinds of fun paper work stating that you will not activate the transmitter unless it is a real emergency. The watch is actually registered to you and Breitling suggests that if you ever sell the watch to transfer the registration to the new owner.
  7. I thought they did with the 7751, you just don't see this movement in to many watches. Other then a Breitling Datora and a few other smalle brands, I do not know what other Gen. peice uses it. I know Panerai has not used it.
  8. Wonder why they have just never copied the ETA 775X movements instead of modifying the hell out of the 7750. They share the same base ebauche, are the same size and are interchangeable with one another. Just sounds like they have engineered everything backwards. Think how much work from their end had to go into turning a 7750 into a 7753. Granted some functions like quick date change on the 7753 are not interchangeable, most of the other parts are. Now the work they have done regarding moving seconds to 6 or 12, is understandable as they have the same limitations as every other Swiss manufacture regarding costs associated with R&D.
  9. The Gen uses the OP VIII caliber, which is a ETA 7750 modified with a GMT module. If you could get your hands on a ETA 7754, you should be able to swap it out. I know the 7754 is intercheangable with the other ETA 775X movements. The question that I can not answer is if the hands from a Asian clone will fit a ETA movement.
  10. Maybe I will have to check out the Renaissance Festivals here in Michigan more. Dang!
  11. Toad I am with you! Almost bought a Gen until I found out the it must be serviced every 2 years buy Breitling at the costs of $500! Not worth the serivcce cost for me to own a gen. as I have no real use for it.
  12. Nice! I had a '03 ZO6 w/ 800rwhp built by Lingenfelter. Sold it with plans to buy a '09 ZR1, but now I work for the "Other guy" so I had to put one of these in my garage. 600Hp package. I have been fortunate with my wife as she has been supportive of my watch "problem". Now she was not always this way. It changed just after we got married and I took her to my local AD as they just got the Baton Dial Breitling SA in stock. After trying the different color dials on we both agreed the blue was the best color and she told me, "To get it." For some reason I talked myself out of it at that time. Turns out that was the best thing I could have done. 3 days later I got home from a hellish day at work, went into the kitchen mixed up a dirty martini when my wife surprised me with a gift. It was the SA I talked myself out of! It turned my day completely around and she realized the joy that watches bring me. She realizes that watches are the only piece of jewelry that most men wear and thinks of them as accessories just like her MULTIPLE piece of jewelry and shoes. Before leaving for work in the morning she looks at my wrist to see what I have on and either approves or tells me to go put another watch on. Who am I to argue? She has kind of turned into a "Watch Snob", as she rather see me have 10 high end watches then say 60 Invictas or other ShopNBC brands as some of my friends do. A few of my friends question how I can spend so much on some thing that tells time, to which I reply "How much did you spend for that piece of rock on your wife's finger?" At the end of the day I care less about what people think as long as I enjoy it.
  13. You will not find AD's on this forum, only rep dealers. As Toad said, AD's is where you go to buy the real deal. Places like Tourneaus sell the real thing. The real thing is around $133K retail! Believe it or not most people that can afford the real Tourbillons do not wear them much out in public.
  14. Love the Defy Extreme collection, just not this particular color or model. Now the stainless with white face is more to my liking. Now just need to get the bph up to Zenith's 36k and make that second hand sweep smooth as silk!
  15. I have seen that before. My $0.02, you are going to be asking too much of the movement as too many modifications are required. If feasible, I also think the movement will make the watch too thick. The Bentley GMT, although is 49mm in dia. it is also very thin. I want to say maybe 14mm-15mm thick at the most. The first thing I noticed when I had one on my wrist was, nice diameter size but sat very low on the wrist. Kind of almost not proportionate between diameter and thickness.
  16. Sounds like you would be better off getting a gen dial if you are looking for perfection. In case you did not know, the Gen dial is actually Rhodium. The reps are never going to be exact to this dial unless they use Rhodium or plating. Rhodium is the second most costly precious metal, second to Platinum. This one is usually discounted less by AD's as it was more $$$$. The Rhodium actually make the dial look different colors under certain lights and viewing angles. I can get shade of blue through out the dial under florescent office lights. Outside it has a very nice starburst pattern with shades of red and orange going through it. Some thing I have never seen a rep dial do. The pic in the Chrono log makes the dial look silver, when it is really far from it.
  17. Nice! Thanks! Now they just need to get a GMT hand on it with the GMT change function on the LH side of the case.
  18. Having the same issue too. IE8 on my home puter and it is dog slow. IE6 on my work laptop and seems run a lot faster. Going to try FireFox this weekend.
  19. Cape Cod cloth will do it. Has a much better scent too then what has already been mentioned.
