  1. @Dani: Very sorry with what happened.

It also happens to me now and then. .....( :( By-Tor was saying that these things only happen to me ...... but sadly I am not the only one).

During the last three years I had three watches lost in mail and two clearly stolen.

I am only receiving and sending insurred now ..... but that's an extra of 10 Euros for every shippment.

    (10

  2. Guys ,

Do you remember these acrylic (or plastic) transparent watch bands ??? ........ they were "in fashion" a couple o years ago.

I was wondering if these watch bands can be found around as stand alonewatch bands.

So far I can only find them attached to a similar (transparent) watch case...... case and watch band as one thing all together.

    Here is an example.

... I have a couple of old RXs want to modify and bastardize for summer wear and car wash only.

  3. I think the only visible difference when compared to the gen , are the subdials.

On the rep are flat where (I think) on the gen are raised and with an angle.

Despite of this is a pretty neat rep.

Edited: I am correcting this for the flat subdials on the Rep.

Silix got up a new picture now with more detail and the subdials look like on the gen.

  4. For my there is no doubt about it.

One is spending more money with Reps than with genuines for sure.

I (as an example) I am buying 4 reps a years (at $ 350 each average).

Thats: 1400 USD a year. Plus about 100 usd for sending watches back and forth (QA things). Plus $ 300 (anual) for mods. Plus $ 200 for some repairs.

So that makes a total 1800 to 2000 USD a year.

I dont buy trhough 2 gens a year for 1000 USD each (stupid me).

If you have the "bug" ..... one or two watches a year is not enough.

With Gens (assuming complete absence of reps from the market) one will learn to control trhe "bug".

  5. I bought my PAM 063-GMT with real Swiss ETA 2893-2 from Eddie Lee back in February 2006. Paid a whopping $499.00 with a SS bracelet. It was the most expensive rep I have ever bought and still one of my best. Now we pay that price for Asian.

    Usil

I got the 029 from him too (swiss 2893-2) ... same price as yours.

These pieces are now selling for 700+ USD without any modifications.

And the Mr Sunshine .... was a great guy and great sence of humour.

  6. There are bad signs all over this new AP ROO secs at 12.

Can tell if its due to the modification of the movement (some guys who I personally consider with a knowledge similar to The Zigmeister , say that the movement mod even though not as bad as the one with secs at 6 ..... still is a time bomb mainly due to the way it is assembled )....... or maybe we just have a case of a very bad movement production batch (...we have seen cases like this in the past).

Either way ..... I will hold and not get this one .... untill there is enough input from members regarding good performance.

Do we know if The Zigmeister had the chance to inspect the movement ???

  7. Accept it and pay that $25. Even though it shouldn't be that way ...... its a common practice amongst the dealers.

This is most likely due to the fact that the value of the stolen watch is covered by the dropshipper, while shipping cost is paid directly from the dealer.
