I had a similar case recently ... though in mine, most likely it was stolen straight from my mailbox.

In your case .... dont really know what you can do.

You can claim from the post office (.... you can say was a real watch inside) .... but they will reply that "most likely" was send that way (empty) and there is nothing they can do about it.

Maybe the only thing that can save us from these kind of actions is having packages send "certified" and "insurred".

Then can only be delivered upon signature (check before you sign) and then you can claim insurance.

In any case Eurotimez (for whom I was under the impression that he was shipping from Europe) should replace the watch.

What do you mean upgrade? Aren't they just standard 7750s? Or are they the 21k version?

I like the Oris, but I think I prefer the Costa version a little more.

I think ... though I must see it in person to be sure ,.... the panda dial makes really the dial to pop up.

Doesn't change the fact though... dealers (or their middlemen) modding the watches isn't a good idea. There's the cost factor, and there's the skill factor. Things that people like The Zigmeister do aren't easy.

Also many reps get in to Europe from UK.

Is that difficult to find a skillfull watchsmith there willing to work with Reps on repair and modding services ???

Dealers get their watches directly from the factories.

I am pretty much convinced that the dealers ( ... with few exceptions) do not even see or touch the wacthes we get.

We get them straight from a "middleman" who works for both the factory and the dealer.

find your local watchmakers buy going to jewelry marketplaces )no AD's) - you may find a stand alone watchmaker who is willing to work on reps. I have found one - and there are plenty of stories of others.

Its a little bit of a risk as you don't know of their quality -

However, i seeing as i know of the actual reputation of some of the other "modifiers" on the other boards. I would trust none of them with a movement - so your no worse off

I agree. It is risky....

The good ones dont usually work on reps. The bad or less qualified ones sometimes do, but God knows what the outcome or fix will be.

We need more The Zigmeisters .... the more we have (preferrably spread around the globe), the better for the community as a whole.

Anybody knows a Rep friendly and Trusted (for his Good Work) watcsmith in EU ???

Biggest problem with reps is that there are no many watchsmiths around that are willing to take reps and the few you can find around ....(many of those few), do "destroy" the watches due to the lack of true profesional skills.

So if anybody has a good experience with a watchsmith in EU and he is willing to share that info , will be very much appreciated.

Actually we have touched this issue many times in the past (Thomas has also mention it recently).

The reason why we need a Genuine Subforum is because there are many watch brands (with excellent movements) that they range from 300 to 1000 USD.

Well ... for reps ..it can also mean ... "wear it and pray that it will not be broken".

Thanks Chief ...but most of the rep RXLs around (including MBW / MBK) do not accept genuine bezels (without extra treatment) .... therefore gen bezels cannot be snaped in in to these watches .... they have to be glued.

BTW , what is GS Hypo ..... need to find out what is the equivalent EU product.

What I know is that on the gen the inner bezel and pusher at 4'00 , automatically locks underwater and under certain prerssure ......which of course is logical and a safety feature in to these kind of activities.

Well I guess the better way to find out is to ask.

IWC Slevin , inner bezel, pusher at 4'00.

What is the correct way to operate it for turning the inner bezel ???

1) Push and turn anti-clockwise ??

2) Turn anti-clockwise without pushing ???

...and last question: in order to start / stop the turning of the inner bezel with the pusher at 4'00 ..... the pusher does it have (or should have) a kind of a lock / unlock (sort of screw down or up) mechanism which you need to engage before..... or you just turn the pusher and that's it. ????
