  1. Very nice! Fantastic pictures. Makes me wanna buy one
  2. Here are a few pics of Gen Gmt Masters. 1959 1966 1979 None of these models had "date" on the dial. The 1959 model has a smaller gmt hand.
  3. This watch looks interesting, however is the dial correct? Tachometer? Here is a pic of the Gen. Tachymeter! Any thoughts? Thanks.
  4. Greetings and Salivations! I stumbled across RWG quite by accident... while looking for a Rolex Daytona Rep. I began by collecting pocket watches, I loved the quality of the movements and at the time they were really cheap. I taught myself basic watch repair and bought watches that needed a cleaning or mainspring replacement. Then I began to collect Gen wristwatches I could afford, usually the ones that needed a little TLC. I used to go garage sales and Flea Markets looking for these horological treasures. There were times when I literally had to run ahead of other watch collectors to get to a certain stall first. I mean it was competitive! While negotiating the price of a vintage Rolex with a dealer, another guy came and started a bidding war! I got tired of all the running around and the watch collecting hobby came to a standstill. The first rep I bought was back in 1993. A Rolex Day Date, quartz, chromed plastic! I wore it for a while before I realized how silly it was. I didn't realize how good reps were till I saw a few on FleaBay. These type of listings would vanish as soon as somebody pointed out that it was a rep. One of the reps I saw was of the Daytona. I couldn`t believe how good it looked. Stainless steel and mechanical, not chrome covered brass or quartz. And so my quest for knowledge began, and while googling for the rep Daytona I came across many sites offering Italian and Swiss reps and in the middle I found RWG. I would like to thank RWG for renewing my interest in watch collecting and for my rapidly dwindling savings account! The information here is invaluable and I have learned a lot about Gens by comparing them to their Reps. Long live RWG!
  5. I am looking for a vintage GMT Master with a dial that reads "oyster perpetual" and not "oyster perpetual date" I have been researching gen vintage models and none had "date" on the dial. Love the look of this watch, but the date thing bothers me! :yucky: Please help!
  6. The backlog of emails is only going to get worse if continues to work on his website. A few more weeks without a website won't make a difference. I purchased a watch from him recently based on all the good comments I've read. The watch I received is not as advertised and it has been 6 days since I emailed him about the problem.
  7. Thanks! The AR issue doesn't bother me as much as the lack of serial no. On my vacation to the Carribean I had this baby on my wrist. I visited a few shops that had Omegas on display and I was comparing the rep to the gen, simply amazing! Even some of the sales staff complimented me on my watch. Enjoy your watch!
  8. I had a few cheaper watches that required the month to be changed manually, this one does it all. The ring is stationary. The movement does seem to be the same one as the Breitling Montbrilliant.
  9. I was thinking about it! I enjoyed reading your guides, I found them very informative.
  10. I am in Canada. Andrew would be a good choice. I bought another one from Angus and I wasn`t so lucky.
  11. Thanks for all of your suggestions. I have to agree that the Explorer and Air king are not very exciting. I own a gen Air king and I never wear it. I had been contemplating the GMT Master with pepsi bezel, would it be better to go for a vintage model?
  12. I can't seem to decide what model I would like to buy as my first Rolex rep. I am looking for the most accurate rep possible out of the box with little or no modifications needed. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  13. So far it been working well, only time will tell! It is quite amazing considering at the the end of the month the date, day of the week and month all change! The extra hand on the 9 subdial is a 24 hour indicator which works as well.
  14. Just curious as to what reps to buy with the best water resistance capablities out the box. Any thoughts?
  15. Very nice! I am tempted to get one, seems very accurate. I noticed the knurling is exposed on the rear of the chrono pushers, is it like that on the gen? Looks like the caps need to be pushed in a bit.
  16. Omega Seamaster professional chronograph, maybe a Sub or Seadweller.
  17. Unfortunately it has no AR coating. The Puretime version also has a serial number, but the pushers look odd. The one I bought doesn't have a screw in crown, I am not sure if the gen has it.
  18. Greetings All, My first rep from Andrew. The quality is amazing and all the complications work. Nice heavy watch. Thanks to RWG for making my first purchase a success. (Yes, I am now completely addicted!)
