Seller warning not to post QC pics on forum, is this normal?
omegaunit replied to picoweb's topic in General Discussion
QC pics are nice, better than not having them. I don't like when dealers tell you not to show them to anybody, what is the big deal? I like how the cartels try to absolve themselves of any liability by stating the watch is perfect when it is sent, so if its DOA it happened during shipping. -
Had many issues with Nikki, Angus always corrects the problems. Stopped buying from Puretime due to Nikki.

Not sure how many rep watches you have bought, I have bought many. Never had an issue with the date change stalling the movement. Most issues were with loose hands or crappy bracelets. Many of the watches were bought before they had these QC pics. The QC pics are a good thing but not when they try to blame the courier and absolve themselves of liability. Quote from the dealer "As we also send calibration photos of watch, any DOA (Dead on Arrival) issues should be mostly the courier service handling and not us. If there are such DOA issues, we will require you to send back the item for exchange or repair by the factory (Delivery charges to be borne by the customer)." Anyway some people like throwing money away on return shipping, I am not one of them. This "Trusted dealer" has lost my business.

I recently bought an 42mm Omega Planet Ocean for a friend of mine from one of the top dealers we have here. Went through the whole process of QC pics and approving them and had it shipped. As always the watch was well packed and protected. Gave it a quick once over, eveything look fine. Soon after I gave the watch to my friend he calls me to complain that the watch has stopped. Turns out that when the watch is about to change the date just before midnight it stops. Anyway, I let the Dealer know about the issue and this is what the respone was: "We did send the QC pics of calibration before shipment. If its not ok, please send it back to get it checked and serviced." I don't see how a QC pic is going to show that the date change works properly. Maybe someone can enlighten me.

Horrible dealing with trusted dealer - who do I tell

Well said! I never had to go all the way with the PP claim, it helped speed things up though. I hate to do it but after weeks go by and nothing gets resolved..... -

Simply amazing! It would be nice to go to a garage sale and find a box like that. -
Tweezers anyone? Painful to watch.

Glad it worked out! A Paypal claim always solves my problems and speeds up the customer service. Just don't mention replica. -

Nice watches but a bit on the heavy side. Had to sell mine because it was bothering my wrist. -

I really enjoy reading about how well a watch is packaged and that the damage was the shippers fault. "It was perfect when we shipped it " Too many excuses from certain TDs around here. I never spent my own money to send a watch back. If the watch needed repairs from bad workmanship the TD would help cover the cost. After buying reps from most of the TD around here you find out very quickly which ones will take care of you with minimal hassle. -

I have both. I prefer the 42mm version. I find the 45mm a bit too heavy. Great watch for the money.

I stopped buying from puretime long ago. Nikki does not make things easy. Almost every watch I bought had an issue.

Gen makers bidding up value of own watches?
omegaunit replied to mbjoer's topic in General Discussion
That is why I lost interest in purchasing overpriced gens..... -
Many bad experiences with Nikki, nothing gets resolved until Angus steps in. Hope Angus can make good on this deal.

Nice job! I had to shave .030" from the crystal and another .035" from the case. I used silicon to glue mine in.

Best deal I ever got was not from Ebay. I picked up a gen Breitling chrono cockpit for $25 in working condition from a thrift store.

Unreal... There has to be a way to track this guy. Maybe the 7 guys that got scamed should compare phone numbers used to contact the seller, with any luck maybe a home phone was used at one point. -
Welcome! Been there done that, the only thing I found at the Pacific Mall was illegal copies of DVDs. I couldn't believe it, hundreds of movies, some that were still in the theater all in the open.

Nice job, thanks for sharing.
