Looks just great, somehow more believeable than a Rolex sub, hoping someone will want to trade theirs soon,I always just miss out
-
You don't visit the site for a while and then you miss something like this, that will teach me ! Great looking watch, hope to find one in the sale section eventually.
-
keep this thread going, gotta be vintage, top watch
-
This would be the real deal, lets face it, how hard could it of been back in the day to supply all previous Subs with the correct size/position holes, the makers had done all the hard work with cases, dials, bracelets and always let it down with the lug holes and Polex etc engravings
-
Subs just have to have lug holes for me, and the correct size for gen spring bars that come all the way to the end

Looking for recommendations for vintage rollie
jgpp63 replied to omegaunit's topic in The Rolex Area
I've just got this vintage 5508 http://www.repgeek.com/showthread.php?t=12740 It's a cheap Sillix Asian that's had the dial and case aged and the lug holes drilled, thanks a lot to Denis in Canada. It now lives on a grey Nato strap -
I second Timefactors, beadblasted stainless fittings, not the cheapest but top quality
-
Just come across Trusty's cheaper 5513 at $198, it does appear to have white print on the dial, anyone got any experience with it ? http://www.trustytime88.com/index.php?main...products_id=216
-
Tribal, who supplied yours ? thanks
-
Well the MBK may be an option if it does indeed come with two dials or I could be guarenteed a white script on one I purchased otherwise it may just have to be an "aged" yellowey" dial. The 5517 looks good but the lugholes would be too big if I removed the fixed bars !
-
Thanks Alligoat, I thought that the MBK had print that was yellowish same as the hour/minute markers that the other dealers sell. Will have another look at the MBK
-
Have searched the site and looked at lots of the dealers but can't find a 5513 with white print on the dial as it should be, think even the Mbk have it the same as the markers, can anyone point me in the right direction, thanks
-
Just thinking that they've made a very nice watch and slipped up on something very basic which would be very simple to fix but they appear to be still using it looking at the sub without lugholes.
-
Hi, which watches came with the famous Polex engraving on the case? Want to avoid if possible, thanks again
-
I love Tudor Subs, especially snowflake hands, think the only ones I've seen as reps are one offs using vintage or mbk/mbw cases and gen parts, The blue French Navy models are my favourite and they are all going up in value. Less obvious than Rolex but just as nice, good look with the search and I've read various threads promising them but nothing as yet.Let me know if you find what your looking for
-
I've got the 656, it's a future design classic, you can see where Bell & Ross come from
-
Thanks Toadtorrent,my only issue with Sillix is he sometimes sends the wrong watches, dropshipping? keep your views coming, thanks again
-
Thanks Carlsbad, going to have my first attempt at modding and wanted a reasonable quality watch to start with, not sure if I'll push it to an MBW/MBK as these are approx
-
With him saying they are 1:1 I assumed these would take gen cystals, inserts etc? I could be wrong or so could he ! What I want to know is iif the more expensive watches are definatly better or not, somebody must of bought one from him. I want a 5513 but am also interested in an early Sub as well, thanks again
-
Yes, thats one of the watches , looks ok like the rest but would like some indepenent views
-
Hi, has anyone bought Trusty's Top Grade Vintage Rolex. $218 as against $198 for the normal vintage, Andrew say's they have gen Swiss ETA and better cases and the web site says's they are 1:1 to genuine.I'm guessing this also means the cheaper has an ETA copy movement. Also on there are some early "Bond" subs without crownguards which I really like ie. 5508,6538 at $228 are these the same as Sillix or better Thanks in advance for your feedback
-
Could be interested, is movement gen ETA or Asian, more close ups if possible and what is cost inc shipping
-
Have a look at www.watchworx.co.uk , good quality at realistic prices
-
Good looking watch, right up my street these very vintaged looking Subs.Keep missing them when they come up for sale, so might have a go myself !
