The structure of the movement is not that difficult so that wouldn't be a problem

With a Swiss ETA 2824-2 Automatic (Nickel Movement) it looks pretty good to me

seriously,buying a quartz with a battery is a good start to begin, and easy to change the battery yourseld..
I don't believe Chris sells quartz watches but he is a good choice to start out with
don't pull too hard or you will wreck it..it has to come out pretty easy after you turn the releasescrew a little, if not give it another half turn. Should do the trick
