Welcome to RWG Jon, did you compare the offered reps with a gen one... The structure of the movement is not that difficult so that wouldn't be a problem Here is Andrew's version compared to a gen http://www.trustytime88.com/index.php?main...558c7242f6df9b7 With a Swiss ETA 2824-2 Automatic (Nickel Movement) it looks pretty good to me

welcome here m8, i think it depends on what watch you buy...some last for years, others for weeks... seriously,buying a quartz with a battery is a good start to begin, and easy to change the battery yourseld.. I don't believe Chris sells quartz watches but he is a good choice to start out with
