  1. Hi. I've noticed that many GMT Ceramic come with misaligned bezels. The triangle is a few millimeters to far to the left or right. Is it difficult to remove it and insert it again? Has anyone tried it? Thanks.
  2. Sharp eyes. I missed the short crown guards. I hate when a promising budget alternative has such a big turn off.
  3. Is it possible to tighten the bezel on the submariner ceramic from the noobfactory? It has all the clicks but they are very soft and you can almost turn it half a click backwards. Or is it better to send it back and have the whole watch replaced?
  4. This was interesting. Where do you source the last link to connect to the old style ends? Or is it possible to connect it directly to the noob/wm9 midlinks?
  5. There are many reps of the Explorer 1. Each with their own flaws. Things to look for are crystal height, it should be raised above the bezel, many reps sit too low. The numerals on the dial, they need to be rounded, some reps have very square shaped numerals and some have too much white "paint" in them. The crown, some reps has a very oversized crown. The bracelet and clasp are also important, are the endlinks flush to the case, for example. If i remember right, the 11,5 mm version has a good case, crystal and crown but it would be nice with photos to actually confirm this.
  6. I had a quick look at the 5513 and it seemed to have a better crown height than the mbw which has the crown too low. And the crown guards didn't look too bad either. But I agree, you still need a new dial, new hands, and a new crystal. If the crown is bad you need a new one also and why not a new tube to go with it... Vintage projecs usually are expensive, especially if you mix in gen parts. By the way, where do I find an MBW case under $200?
  7. After long consideration and browsing I'm leaning towards this version from Trusty Time http://www.yourtrustytime.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_3&products_id=242. Does anyone here have any experience with this exact version, or pics even? It's hard to get a detailed view of it from the product pics. Thanks.
  8. Excellent watch and photo, highoeyazmuhudee. It's photos like that that got me interested in the Explorer. And the dial alignment, I had no idea about that... Though, I would prefer a version with thinner white on the numerals and thinner crown, if such a version still exists.
  9. The Explorer from puretimes has a dial with boxier, almost square numerals. The photos I've seen so far have had rounder numerals on the dial. The dial on Trusty Times site seems to have the dial with rounder numerals.
  10. Thank you for your replys. Prowatch had only the new 2010 version of the Explorer I on her site. Does it mean that the watch actual watch Trusty Times ships will have different dials than the one pictured on his site? The dial on the site actually looked very good IMO.
  11. Thank you, I will do that. I had hoped it would be easier and that there would be a recommended version. Kind of like it is with the subs from wm9 or the noob factory.
  12. Thank you. I was thinking of the more modern versions that I see at many of the dealers. Are they all from the same maker? Is it the noobfactory?
  13. I'm after the Explorer I, not the 2010, with ETA or clone ETA. Are there many different makes of this? Are there any sigificant flaws I should be aware of? I've done some research but it's difficult to get a complete picture of this model. Thanks.
  14. Any info on that case would be great right now. Who is the seller? Has anyone used his cases before?
  15. Thank you. The 1680 and 5513 have identical midcases if I'm not mistaken?
  16. I've read the rumor about the newer MBW cases being different. But I have not been able to confirm what those differences are or if they really exist. I've talked to Narikaa about buying an MBW from him. But he wasn't sure he could get only the case and how long it would take. So whether I like it or not I may just have to wait and see how things turn out for you. It will be very interesting.
  17. That looks very good for the price. Then add a few scratches on the bezel and insert and remove the pearl and you're done. It'll be very interesting to see the final result when it's all put together.
  18. I know that the MBK/MBW can do that. I have one right here on my desk, with all the gen stuff installed. I also have a friend who owns both an MBW, a Yuki and a gen so I can easily compare them in detail when it comes to crown guards and crown height and other details. And one interesting thing I've noticed is that not one MBW case is exactly identical to the other, they all have small variations in the lugs and crown height etc. These cases were bought about two years ago and they seem harder to source today. I'll contact Narikaa and see what he can do. Do you have any other suggestions on where to find one if he can't help me?
  19. Thanks, but the yuki holder does not take the 2846. At least not according to the site. In what way are the newer MBW cases different? I need a case that will accept a gen dial, bezel+insert, crown+tube, gen crystal and gen springbars. My old MBW from 2008 did all this. Again, thank you so much for your replys so far.
  20. Thank you for your replys. Your watch looks very good. From what I've heard the Yuki case won't accept an ETA movement. I'm still interested in finding a new MBW case. Does anyone know if they are avaliable today and who sells them?
  21. Hi. I am looking for a replacement case for my 5513 project. I have an old MBW Polex case with drilled lug holes and gen everything and a 2846 movement. But I'm not completely satisfied with my work on the crown guards. I know Eurotimes has them, on his site at least. But he is not responding right now. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  22. Yes and no. I have the exact same watch, and it drags a few millimeters 30 minutes or so before midnight when it actually snaps over. I find this a VERY important issue and will try to post a picture of it later today, along with a quick hello to the forum .
