  1. Even without macro photos, when you hold a gen Rolex in your hand you see and feel the difference. I love my reps, but as the song goes... "ain't nothin' like the real thing, baby..."
  2. Good to see you all, too I hope the rest of the gang shows up... alpha, iabounty, jameo, dems, rolexadict, .. heck- even Dave.. I miss the whole RWG1 bunch.
  3. Hey everybody.. just checking in. @johng-- thanks for taking the lead on this. Even though I haven't posted there much lately, I visit at least daily and had been wondering what happened to the forum.. -SA
  4. I'm partly curious about the availability of the products he posted last August... but I was thinking surely there must be some new stuff made in the past year... no? Well, I will PM him, but if anyone has info about men's bags from bergie or anyone else, I'd like to hear about it. Thanks
  5. Does anyone know about availability of men's breifcases? Kenberg's last thread with pics of offerings is almost a year old (http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=46329), and I haven't been able to find any discussion or sales posts on the topic. Thanks! -SA
  6. I thought this thread was supposed to be about Super Reps ?? I don't know what exactly constitutes "Super", but these have 2824 or 2836 and are very good: - SuperSeaDweller v2 - Omega Railmaster - Audemars Piguet Royal Oak (39mm,new version) - VC Overseas - Ultimate Planet Ocean
  7. I didn't like that model Daytona at first, but it's growing on me... and your pics are pushing me even further toward the purchasing point! Congrats on the haul, Doc
  8. Anyone know where to get a lello or similar datewheel (or overlay) for a PAM 048? (or 050, or other 7750-powered PAM)? I love my 048, but the small thin date font is bugging me! Thanks
  9. I have an AP Royal Oak with a slightly off-center bezel. I did a poor job of capturing it by camera, but the bezel needs to be turned slightly clockwise. Do I have to remove the bezel to do this? If so, how do I remove it? Pry it off and glue it back? Help please...
  10. Really?... That would be a huge relief for me. I don't know why I assumed it needed to be replaced properly. I guess I'll leave it out, then! Thank you so much!!
  11. One of my 2824's was running 12 seconds fast. No big deal, but I was greasing the watch's seals anyway so I figured I'd slow the movement a bit to get it closer to spot-on time keeping. I've done this before. No big deal, right? Well the damn screw came loose! I was using the proper screwdriver size, I was very gentle, but it came loose and popped right out. Now I can't get it to stay back in its place. Clearly I'm no watchsmith... Help?
  12. "Sir, do you know how fast you were going?" "I thought I was going 10 miles per hour.." "Try 13 miles per hour!! You could have killed somebody!"
  13. AMAZING review. I've got a black gator strap on this same watch and it looks almost dressy! Probably my favorite rep currently. Again, really great review you've put together on a beautiful watch!!
  14. Have you worn a Sub? The smallest 40mm PAM looks significantly bigger on a wrist than a 40mm Sub. I thought I could pull off the small PAM since a Sub looks ok, but almost too big on me... Nope, the PAM 40mm looks bigger. The 44mm is very large... and the 47mm is HUGE and definitely stands out even on bigger wrists. This could be fine depending on your image and what 'professional setting' means. I can pull off sporty watches that are a bit too big for me, but I work in a relatively casual office (I don't even wear a tie sometimes).
  15. My vote goes to the Vizsla. A wonderfully playful, Hungarian hunting breed...
  16. Datejust - smooth (simple, understated, classy) Day-Date - fluted (if you're rocking a $10k+ watch, might as well have the little extra bling factor)
  17. I've now spent more on reps than I used to think I ever would on gens! Expensive-- yes. But so much fun
  18. Hmm... broken English in the listing... limited payment options... claims that it's brand new, yet has the old style pre-2006 box... Could be genuine, but I certainly wouldn't risk it.
  19. You'll be happy with Trusty's beginner Sub. He recently began carrying the same ones that Josh does, from the 'noob' factory, which are much better than the previous stock. It also shouldn't take more than a week to arrive; don't sweat it. Welcome to a fun - and maybe just a little addicting - hobby!
  20. BTW, @Dimer: nice pics! Much better than the ones I posted on another forum.
  21. I agree with you; for $108 it is a better rep than some more expensive ones. I actually have the $218 swiss eta version, and it is still a better rep than some more expensive ones. But that etched coronet is quite visible, and if you hand the watch to someone who knows a little about Rolexes they'll be able to tell it's not genuine almost immediately. That's why I wouldn't make the "1:1" claim.
  22. I've got this watch from Josh, too, and it gets plenty of wrist time BUT... definitely not perfect 1:1. The winding crown is slightly too thick (as it is with most rolex reps), the "ter" of "superlative chronometer" is spaced out too far from the rest of the word, and the most glaring flaw is that the etched coronet at 6 is very visible... even from as far as a foot away. Don't get me wrong, I do like this watch very much, but I don't want anyone to think it is perfect 1:1
