  1. it happens, and rolex will tell you it is within their tolerances, i brought my new random serial daytona into rolex service in nyc, and they took a little while with it and watchmaker came back and said this is the way it is. they did give me a free pouch and rolex cloth for my troubles though hah. not poor qc, but sometimes even with the most accurate cnc, you still get minor tolorance issues.
  2. i got the gen blue thc a week or so back, its definitely a nice watch, my favorite out of the 3 gen thcs that i have. repping this watch accurately is a big problem because of the running seconds at 3 and a 45 min counter instead of 60 at 9.
  3. excellent post, they sure are getting closer and closer to looking like a gen movement, i'm glad there are still plenty of tells though, because you don't want people to pass them off as gens.
  4. i haven't seen any reps with proper stampings on the back for gold models. this ebay watch has the proper stampings.
  5. The thing is that with most gen owners, they are not WIS, they treat the watches as jewelery, so whatever happens to catch their eye, goes on their wrist. Members over here with reps, most the people on the forums, research the heck out of what they buy, before buying them, in the process getting educated about gens and reps alike. I started out with reps, and transitioned to gens because i realized how much i loved the watches and decided to splurge on the gens. chances are that most gen watch owners out there know little more then the name of who makes the watch, you won't find many people that go yea, i have a 1680 on or a 1665.
  6. only 1 franken here, and thats the viet cased comex with gen movement, she would be quite worried if i walked out the door with this.
  7. Wished i could head out, if my wife saw me loading up my watch travel case, the would think that i'm running away from home,
  8. if it weren't for family day, i would be out there, with a few of my gen watches and oli's comex (my only rep currently). hoboken is a short drive away for me from staten island.
  9. i work in the area, nothing good, atleast they won't show me any, that and i am asian. i asked to see their good stuff, they tell me this is the good stuff.
  10. I have seen some of Yuki's good works, but recently i inquired about a 1665 caseback, and the picture of the ones he had available and sent me pics of looked like garbage to put it bluntly. have to make sure yuki sends you the picture of the exact item that will be shipped, if you go with yuki.
  11. if your friends dad ever wants it back, its as simple as a phone call to the police. good luck!! this is one of those grey areas that most would not tread into!
  12. was told that antiquorum is not the most reliable place to get watches from, i pray that the buyer got what he paid for.
  13. my challenge coin has been presented
  14. got my gen in today, this watch is absolutely great to wear, great wrist feel and all, loving the gen pelagos i received more though. the bracelet on the black bay appears to be the same as the heritage chrono, heavy solid osyter bracelet.
  15. a lot of gwsd's came with the drsd caseback from mbw back then. had one of those way back.
