i have to say there are some really good gen quartz chronos including the Tag and Porsche Design. i have the Tag and its good for a travel watch- tough, always works, looks good and water proof. it even has 1/10 sec chrono timer. i have about 50 watches, mostle automatic and it a pain keeping them all running.

i'm lucky i have a profession and i had some good years. my pension plan has been destroyed by the dot com bubble and now this crap! it looks like i'll have to work al least part time for ever. i'vee spent alot of $$ on my watch collection- i figure it most be worth about 60K by now. i have a bunch of gens. the rest not valuable for resales.

its a beauty! its more gen than franken. is it 36mm?

most of the dealers like josh sell them. the main flaw-IMO the red date font. WM9 claims to sell a TT with solid gold midlinks for $650. it looks nice , but also has those red dates that are very bright. actually- looking again, josh's more expensive TOG have a pretty good red date font.

thanx doc, i know you're a rollie fan too. you can't go wrong for the price, i haven't seen anyone else offer this model. its alot less common than the black sub, not too many people will probably call it out.

you can get a nice AK/ Oyster from Josh for about $220. it 's supposed to be swiss but who knows anymore. the worst -asian clone which isn't too bad. i, however, wish i could know for sure up front.. that's another thread.

I just got this from Narikaa. its only about $110 delivered with 21J movement. i love the green crystal. its not perfect, but the gens are running like 8-10K!

the truth imo- the feel of the gen rolex has never really been equaled by the reps. but visually the reps can be very close- no average person can usually tell. the gen prices have gotten ridiculous- and for them to raise prices again now with the world's ecomomy faltering-really pisses me off. btw- what is'WIS'?

i don't know how accurate this is vis a vis john's data, but i heard really that for rollies there are 11:1 reps to gens. this is pre-ceramic data; and may be obsolete by now, jejeje

Besides the chronic CPU crap, it seem like lately when I try to log- on all i get is "Account Suspended". What's up with them?

Not me- despite the fact that i'm considering an orange PO. i never liked the old blue seamaster. the rollie is alot more $$. everybody assumes that a black sub is a fake however.

I'm sure the rubber or leather would be much lighter. I've been thinking about the gen leather strap for my Tag Grand Carrera which is quite a monster too. It costs about $350!! I recently put a PAM leather strap on my TT BCE and it looks great.

For some reason i was reluctant to get one of these even though i know its one of the best reps. I just got this blue one, the AR is really nice. I have to say the watch is a beauty, just as they said, but abit heavy for my taste.

Does anybody remember these guys. I know technically I'm in the wrong forum; this was made by G-P. Its also quite abit smaller than the 45 mm new ones.
