  1. I advise you to give us more info then. What price range are you looking at? Where do you live? What are your criteria? I mean the answer is most likely going to be Davidsen's 111h, but let's make sure first. ps. I take it your research missed the huge thread yesterday where this very answer was hashed out by several people ...
  2. It's not just the French that benefit, it's us Ex-Pats living in France. However, the 35-hour working week is a myth. We all work more than 35 hours as it is. However, we do get a few free days (about one a month) extra holiday because we work 37-40 hours.
  3. I don't have the watch in front of me, so I can't say about the subdials, but the Lume is perfectly useable. Edit: Flat Subdials:
  4. New case (apparently) with AR. Yes, it's a Swiss 7753. Post of the Month prize.
  5. I was considering a poll as it allows anonymity, but it seemed to trivialise the whole thing.
  6. It is for this very reason that I urge people who haven't spoken out to do so now. I know from my PMs that there are a lot of people that agree with me but would rather not say so publicly for fear of damaging their relationship with their dealer, but this is it; this is the last chance. Speak now or forever hold your peace, because if the Admin team believe that we're all happy being mislead by dealers, they will take that as the policy of the board. I hope I'm not being over-dramatic, but let's take the other point of view. If you're happy for the dealers to use misleadign terms because you understand what they really mean then speak. Tell us worry-mongers how much we're over-reacting and convince us we're just worrying over nothing. We will shut up if the forum tells us that they don't have a problem with the dealers using potentially misleading terms.
  7. I'm the opposite: Indoors, tripod. Outdoors, by hand. Watches aren't going anywhere, so I can set up a shot and bracket it, all from the tripod, shot with the timer.
  8. I'm English. I get feet and inches ...
  9. It's great. I recommend those cases. I almost wish I'd got the 4-watch one.
  10. Honestly and legality are not the same thing.
  11. Sorry, I thought you were joking as we've had three Blood Diamond threads so far and this makes a fourth. In the other three, it is confirmed he's wearing a Breitling Chrono Avenger.
  12. Rather than trust the forum's admin team? If the admin team reckon there is some ambiguity, and they can be assumed to know how to adequately read as much between the lines as they deem acceptable, then it's good enough for me. Contrary to common belief, I have no great agenda here (apart from one I set out to do when I first joined the forums and that was to increase the average quality of photography across the replica forums, but that's got nothing to do with this) and would love for this all to have been a mistake or a tyop. I don't think I'll have that pleasure somehow.
  13. Clone? Clone? "You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means." - Inigo Montoya It's not a clone. It has nothing to do with a 2892. You chose the name "ETA 2892" for the movement. Until you posted it was an ETA 2892, nobody had ever referred to that movement by that name.
  14. Here's my simple How to post photos tutorial. It's so much better than uploading them here.
  15. You do realise it was supposed to go in a new thread in the RT polls area, right?
  16. Bump. I've not added the Big Pilot because I don't want to be thought of as IWC's [censored] any more than I already am.
  17. Yes, but now he's asking for new posts. No limits!
  18. My 21j Noobmariner is about to have its first birthday: It's running fine. So well, in fact, that I ordered a Noobmariner LV. Yeah, two watches ... I can't disagree.
  19. Precisely. The whole thing sounds like it was reluctantly written and it's for that reason that it smells of weasel. Am I asking too much to think we deserve better? It appears to me that the majority of posters here thought a line had been crossed and that the reply from Andrew/Josh says "Yes, and suck it up. There's more to come." Am I honestly asking too much? If the consensus is that their response is satisfactory, I'll drop my plea. However, if, like me, you can smell a bit too much weasel and worm, then please say so. This is not the time to keep quiet for fear of rocking the boat.
  20. I'll add individual watches in a while, but in the meantime, to celebrate the new arrival of a 12-watch box, here are some photos. That should be everything... for a week.
  21. For those who wanted to see whether or not the 196 really did survive my flipper-fisted repair, here it is: click for 1280x960 version As always, any comments, critiques, etc. would be most appreciated. Yes, I know the second-hand isn't as perfectly aligned as it should be. I'll get it next time.
  22. Ok, look in the Panerai Area. There should be a new one there any second ...
  23. If it's 100% certain this will be your primary watch, I'd advise the ETA, unless money is tight. There is nothing wrong with the Asian movements, but the ETA can be fixed with standard parts.
  24. Andrew, Josh, You would not lose sales if you used the right terms, you know. I know you have good products and you can sell them on their own merits. I had a much longer response but it didn't seem too supportive, so I deleted it and am just going to state that Craytonic covered most if it. Oh yeah, using trademarks as adjectives is weaseling. Stop it. You know it's wrong and you know you're trying to fool someone. Ah, damn, I had to be negative at the end. Sorry.
  25. We all know. I mean I've not even seen the film and can tell you Jennifer Connelly is wearing a Hamilton.
