  1. A good point Fred i do quite a few repairs these days as it is my military retirement plan to set up a watch business and i have already done enough course to say i am qualified (wont go into details as i am sure the school that taught me would not be that happy with my post count on here One thing that realy disgusts me is the state of the back or peoples watches and straps a sharp bit of pegwood around the case back and in the indents and cutouts of a case back brings out an untold amount dead skin and crud that can actually be quite disgusting This was about the third lot of cleaning solution i used on a gen seamaster bracelet a while ago, it was 8 years old and the owner had not even taken a nail brush and soap to it in all that time.
  2. You really can be very surprised with the quality of the parts on a lot of reps (super reps in particular)it is only the QC where they can some times fall down, oftern very comparable with watches you would pay a couple of grand for on the high street, The WM9 well I dont have one but what i have read it as good as it gets! and pretty good by all accounts!
  3. I like that, for 88 bucks why not go for it, shame it does not have the 5517 insert but hell its only $88, when you get this let me know and post a couple of pics, infact what else has he got, im going for a look.

  7. And i even had a look about for one before (just not hard enough)i wrote this for Chronofan123 who bought my EX2 asked for instructions, so i thought i would write them for all to see @Chronofan123, have a good read of BTs one as well, he generally writes clearer than me and his pictures are about a million miles better than mine
  8. Hmmm 23976? Dying?
  9. If you want i can look at the panerai for you, if i can reattach the rotor or replace it then if you have a working watch. I am in germany.

  12. Just made a quick edit, i had the date and GMT movements back to front it is clockwise for the date and anti clockwise for the GMT @ BT i think it should be in tech help and info
  13. This can not be done to the Gen at an AD it would have to be sent away, Learn the other small details and if you are not happy then walk away
  14. There was a rep awhile ago that was near perfect and the big improvement over what is available now is the shape of the date window, current models have square ones where the best had a shorter inner edge and non parallel sided (i know there is a propper word for this but i cant think of it. The available version is good but not as good as it could be and i missed it when the best were available. The current version is this Available here DO some reading before you jump in as there may be better places to get it from depending on your location and other factors
  15. Where are you located Simo
  16. well for the daytona you need to read up on the graphite treatment as for the radiomir what was the fault, i dont think i have ever seen a rad chrono with a 7750. edit it would have to be a 288
  17. Hi mate, www.ptswiss.com would be a good place to start but the moonies are a bit off the mark even with lots of work, have a look in my sig to see what can be done.
  18. Wait till they find these movements are hammered and forged by elves held captive in mordor, then the are smuggled into the USA via cuba PS one part of the story above is more believable than the other Wow i had it wrong all this time, see i thought Rolex were made in europe somewhere? Shitinarand??
  19. i bought it in a tool kit from Precious time a ling time ago, bent the original pin and then made a longer stronger one
  20. They are made exactly the same way on the Gen watch, and they are no easier to resize
  21. Ah the omega bracelet dilemma, it is possible bit it is difficult, there are a number of post about it, The pins are held inside crimped sleeves inside the bracelet, I use a short strong screw tool to get them half way out then a longer thinner one to get them the rest of the way short strong one on the left
