My brother found this whilst cleaning his attic, he took it to the shop marked on the key (now in derby) to see if it was one of their watches and they agreed and confirmed it is 18k gold and was from the late 1800s, but were more interested in the key than the watch and gave him a pretty low value and he asked me if i could help to shed any more light on its value, it is not working but all seams to be in order but need a good service from what i can see, there is a bit of rust apparent on the hands but not on the blued screwes on the movement, the movement is not signed as far as i can see. Can any one else shed any light to its worth? Any ideas guys

That crown is a bit strange, non original.

I think predfan made one from a 5517, pulled out the solid bars, replaced the hands and removerd the (T) from the dial, it looked pretty good.

Get a Lello date wheel and then you should be ok. And a new watch maker!

I can recomend the packages, but take plenty of cash to eat in the town, A very nice place, and some nice places to visit in that area, particulay the castle at Luket.

It was this one most weekend and still got it on this week Taken in the bar of the Hotelgrand pupp in Karlovy vary, The same hotel used in the shooting of Casino royal and last holiday. A nice place to visit and lots of watch shops but with heavily inflated prices "I was quoted Euros 7000 for a TI ingy that i could get for about 4k in germany" due to the patraonge of the place. A normal room per night at ther Pupp costs Euros 180 ish a night. They do a 007 theme package with cost of 270 for 3 nights, with massage, a spot of pistol range time and ammo, dinner, cocktails and a few other extras. if you add up the price of the extras it is worth it.

I have tried with ready set glow, and with simlar results, the best i got was with a set of sub hands but trying to do a dial was near impossible due to the coursness of the grain, even with the hands it had to be applied from the rear and then thinned out with a thinner to reduce its thickness and allow the hands to pass, the lume efect was very good for a cheep medium and glows as long as the superluminover dial. it takes a long time to do, is very hard to achive good results. It is got to try these things your self so that you realise the skill that people like Ziggy have. The sub is on the right and the pictures were taken on amy cam phone so it it a very fast exposure, the hands on the left watch were bought from ebay with Super luminover??
